I'm shocked at you! I'm a very respectable, middle-aged grandmother who lives a simple and frugal lifestyle. I'm thinking of the countryside, open spaces, woodlands, paddocks, rivers and streams... I'm thinking of lambs in springtime, calves, wild deer and other such cute creatures. Coal fires, chickens in the back yard, potatoes in the garden...

Methinks the lady doth protest too much. :D

    Hi Frunchkins :D

Not done much frugalising today:rolleyes: .
Picked my first cherry tomatoes at lunchtime from the ones growing in the hanging baskets and had them with lunch:D,also made a loaf and started a batch of yoghurt off. Had a boring computer/paperwork sort of day at work and feel the need to create something so may do some baking or batch cooking or something later.
OH is not happy as he has lost his wallet with his bank card and driving licence etc in it and has had to cancel lots of stuff. So he is grumpy today ,but he is off to work soon on nights so he can be grumpy there instead:p No doubt once he has changed everything and applied for a replacement licence the wallet will turn up in some strange place:rolleyes:

Not much else to report at the moment ,I am off now for a long overdue :coffee:and a catch up with other threads to try and wind down for the night.

PS Jumble Bee-what have you been taking lately????:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: think the 'orrible teens really got to you:D

    Bails - have a great holiday:j :j :j

I hope your OH finds his wallet soon.

Forgot to mention i have a old bank account with natwest that i no longer use anymore and im on dmp with them for my overdraft..anyways in january i got my contract phone and got insurance with "fonecare". Anyway i March they tried to take £14 out of my account but i spotted it straightaway and the bank refunded it. It was a standing order and i told the bank i had cancelled it and rang fonecare and cancelled it with them. Anyways today i found out the tried to take it out in May again for £14 and cause i no longer use the account i got £38 charge. I told the bank i do not use this account and i have not set up a standing order.. they tried to say i had..but i told them the cash machine took my card because i am on dmp and im not authorised to use my internet banking anymore so how can i set up a standing order. So then she realised what i was saying that someone was setting up a standing order and its not me. Even though the standing order was made to fonecare. But i had cancelled it both with the bank and fonecare. So i went into where i got my fone from and told them even if they had had my permission to take the standing order the amount was wrong as i had 3 months free and so should of only been £5.99 but they told me it was my banks fault. The bank is inverstigating it now. But im stuck with a £38 charge because no one will admit to who's fault it was!

    Moan over ... :rotfl:

Made 1st batch of HM yogurt in the easiyo over night. Was so excited to see if it had worked, had to check it at 5a.m:rotfl: . And by magic, 1x49p ltrs of UHT milk had transformed into yogurt:j . Just stirred in 1/4 packet of no-sugar butterscotch angel delight into 150ml of it for a pudding: absolutley scrumptious (total price for 150g butterscotch yog = 24.5p,half what I was paying for mullerlights. Price of natural yog on its own is about 15p). Having eaten pudding, I better crack on with the main course now:D
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

Hello again! I've come into possession of some jewellery, a wedding and engagement ring from the 1920s. I'm never going to wear them and they haven't any sentimental value for me, so I'm hoping to sell. As it happens I'm going to Dublin soon. Does anyone out there know if it would be better to sell my rings in Dublin - would I get a better price there?
