Just been to find the Nerd test..... didn't expect to score especially highly when I saw the questions they were asking

    52% scored higher (more nerdy),
    1% scored the same, and
    47% scored lower (less nerdy).
What does this mean? Your nerdiness is:
Somewhat nerdy. I mean face it, you are nerdier than about half the test takers.

    ((hugs)) for Janey.

Surely the hospital should have a link through to Social Services? And I would imaging SS will have to do a full assessment to decide what sort of care your Mum needs, and only then will they try and locate a suitable placement for her!

So stick to your guns with the hospital, and maybe they can push things from their end as well

BF - I would join the gym. I used to pay the same for that. In terms of how good you feel about yourself, it is well worth the money (and you save it anyway on the junk food/cakes you cut out if the diet, lol!).

Nyk, just done the Inner Nerd Test from Martin's email:
    11% scored higher (more nerdy),
    1% scored the same, and
    88% scored lower (less nerdy).
What does this mean? Your nerdiness is:
High-Level Nerd. You are definitely MIT material, apply now!!!.
I bet you score higher, with all your spreadsheets.
(I am ridiculously pleased with my score: how nerdy is that?)

OK, I did one of the tests but I must just be plain dumb as I never saw any questions relevant to moneysaving or spreadsheets or anything like that:
    77% scored higher (more nerdy),
    1% scored the same, and
    22% scored lower (less nerdy).
What does this mean? Your nerdiness is:
Not nerdy, but definitely not hip.

Did I take the wrong test?

Good morning frugal nerd-test-takers (and everyone else) :rotfl:

The sun is shining, I didn't put a washing on last night  , the washing in the hallway dried fine with the dehumidifier switched on, the dehumidifier has been on all night and has used less than a single unit of electricity, one of the peppers on 'Big Jim' is actuallu turning red and there is one cherry tomato almost ready for eating from the plant on the hall windowsill. There! That's all my news and updates for the day so far. :o

On the homefront, we now have an enormous marquee covering the entire civic park in preparation for the annual book festival, so this weekend and next should be busy with visiting 'booky' type people. Last year, I carried all my Brookmyre novels across in bags and got the author to sign every one of them, which was quite amusing. I did also buy a copy of his new book, so it wasn't all one-sided. :rotfl: I wonder if there'll be any exciting stalls in the market this weekend? I wonder if I could have a book stall outside my front door and jusy leave an 'honesty' box sitting? :D That would save listing them all online!

  • :hello: everyone :) still feeling rubbish this morning, but today is my day off, so its not as much of a problem. Today will be another NSD :D I'm getting good at these! I wish I'd kept count of how many I've had this month, I'm going to next month I reckon.
Anyone up to anything exciting today?

Janey, I'm glad you feel this is a safe space amongst all the craziness. I'm sure you don't have the energy for a fight but do your best not to worry about the hospital - you can't do anything if the social worker is on strike and they must know that. I hope your mum gets better soon. I've got my duvet out so you can come and hide under it if you like x
I haven't ever sold on Amazon but I know people like FFM swear by it if that helps.

Sorry to hear you're still poorly SF, have a duvet day like me! The only thing I have planned is hopefully going to the cinema later; this morning's plans written off again. I'm having a hot stone massage tomorrow though so something to look forward to.

Bluefleur, my initial response is join the gym. Have you belonged to one before though and did you use it? I'd go for a membership where you can do classes as you're more likely to go and it's the best way to meet other people. I was in the same boat as you and although I haven't met loads of people yet, I do love going.

Liuhut, it is spendingdiary as CW said.

Had a productive morning for the £1000 in 100 days challenge, now just need to amuse myself from the sofa for the rest of the day! *goes off in search of nerd quiz*;)
    and in case you're interested...
    74% scored higher (more nerdy),
    2% scored the same, and
    24% scored lower (less nerdy).
What does this mean? Your nerdiness is:

Not nerdy, but definitely not hip.
I can't believe I managed to come out as nerdy as I did, I couldn't answer hardly any of the questions!

The hospital can't get hold of the SW either
She has had her assessment and funding for permanent care has been agreed. But the funding panel couldn't sit for 2 weeks as there were not enough members to be quorate so Mum missed the place I had found for her in a perfect caring home.
There are 3 other old ladies in the same position...no places for them to go to.
The hospital says she will have to go into teh next available place and that could be 30 miles away

A duvet day sounds great :D Am currently sat in my pjs and dressing gown, i'm liking your style! A hot stone massage?! That sounds amazing - is it expensive? I'd love to go and have something like that done one day :) And where's that test that everyone's doing?! x
