[sounds a bit like, "[U]What I Did On My Holidays[/U]"!!!:rotfl:]

    warning - long post

Having decided to be as MS as possible, I drove to the railway station and bought a day return, £5.20, thus saving myself 23 miles there and back [at 25p/mile that's £11.50 saved already] and the parking fee [another £12, making £23.50 saved and I haven't even got there yet]. Met my chum and went to a REAL restaurant - wow!:D - and she said, "my treat" - my day just gets better and better! - so we walked in and were given a flyer each, guess what, 3 course lunch for £9.95 including a large glass of wine :T So, I was feeling very cheerful  Oh, and as I paid for the meal [I felt guilty:o], she insisted on giving me a £20 note [so that's 10p up again, making £23.60 saved]

Next, off to the Howell's where I went to the Clarin's stand and was given 4 free samples:j. I also managed to find a perfume I have liked for years at less than half price, plus a free sample.... and some perfect lip glosses in the sale for my DD's Christmas present ...............................

only I forgot to buy them:wall::rotfl: [thus saving myself £19.50, so far that's £43.10]

So, if you take the money I saved [£43.10] away from the money I spent [£5.20] , today brought IN a grand total of £37.90 ... if only life worked like that :rotfl:

All in all, a good day was had for £5.10 [I did actually end up 10p richer!]

Off to collect a NEW [only used 4 times] Krups Coffee Machine tomorrow, and an antique wardrobe on Monday. I love Freecycle :happyhear

    DG
If you see me on here - shout at me to get off and go and get something useful done!! :D

Glad you had a lovely day Draig:D Love your method of accounting:D

I'm off to town in the morning with mumzy - have been trying to think of something I need to buy but haven't come up with anything yet:rolleyes: . I used to go "shopping" every week with DD and waste money on frivolous stuff but I struggle now to justify buying stuff:rolleyes:

It is really warm here tonight, have just been sat out having a coffee on patio with OH at 2am:eek: :D

Tom was laid to rest yesterday in glorious sunshine. It was a huge funeral with so many friends and family.
I feel more peaceful now but life will be hard for a long time. He was such a great great man.
I will be posting again but have blown the budget for the next few years I would say. But M&S came up trumps and not a scrap was left! Tom would have loved it.
I put money behind the bar for everyone to have a drink on him. I have taken roses from the flowers to dry.
Books were left out for everyone to record their memories of his life. I will get round to reading them soon.
We sat by the river after and remembered him.
    The sunset was breathtaking.
