  • Sopiesmum - so sad to read your news and moved to tears at the love in your family.
Ooh, a meet. How exciting:j . When I first met bails, I recall her family were a bit concerned I might turn out to be a old man in a mac:rotfl: .
Very thrilled to discover, after I thought I had blown 1st grocery challenge, that I have double entered a £26 spend last week, so now am going to come in bang on target (on the assumption that we can't buy anymore food before the end of the month). Bought 28 14p red peppers today, so will be chopping and roasting to freeze tomorrow:D . Need to make a 2nd loaf, as first (ever attemted) was very heavy and not quite cooked enough:o . Gone over accounts this afternoon and now I simply mustn't spend any money now til next weekend (other than £10 in purse) to stay in the black.
Re the xmas spend - bails (or anyone else), is there any people you can eliminate from the xmas list by having a word with them now re your circs? I've cut out as many folks as possible, not just becasue of lack on money, but the whole stress of it is too much.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

Wendywitch, I hope you are feeling better soon and I love the camping idea! My sis and her friend bought tents and have been camping with all the kids and they love it!

Janey, I know I'm trying to practice frugality but surely some pink wafers and 'real' milk for my coffee is allowed for such an important occasion?! :D

Out of interest, is anyone else on here from Dumfries & Galloway region? We could have regular regional FRUGINARS! (Frugal seminars). :rotfl:

Thanks for the good wishes everyone, just looking through some family photos and found a couple of bro as he was when he joined the family. This was his first experience of the beach and sand but typifies his enthusiasm and enjoyment of everything in life. I am going to start putting an album together for my parents to remind them of the good times:)

Morning everyone.... I'm up very early for a Saturday but have been lying in bed thinking about things I've forgotten to pack, so thought I'd just get up and sort it out. Housemate is going to London today so she's very kindly offered to give me a lift, which cuts out half the train journey to Luton airport. My Dad's picking me up on the way back as well, so my trip to the airport has suddenly got very cheap! Yay!

Hope everyone has a good two weeks :D I expect I'll have a lot of posts to read through when I get back!

Sophiesmum, the photo album is a fantastic idea and I'm sure your parents will really appreciate it.

What makes you think I can afford a mac :D.

Nyk I love pink wafers. But if I eat too many I will fall asleep because of the sugar...does strange things to me after my weight loss surgery :rotfl:

wendywitch hope you are feeling better today.

    sophiesmum lovely photos :D

I hope TomTom is up to finding Nyk's house  I am famous for getting lost.
I feel really honoured that I am to have real milk in my coffee and biscuits :j

Good morning fellow frugalites, we have a beautiful sunny day and last night's washing will be drying al fresco - sorry Janey, yard will look like a laundry instead, but I'm sure it'll be lovely sitting out with the sheets flapping about us! :rotfl:

MollyMop, Janey & I live in the same county and it'll be the first one that LyndaSharp sees as she crosses the border for her hols! Janey, we should have met at Gretna and hung out some flags of welcome then watched for Betsy Belle! :D (Apologies if my mush-mind has this completely wrong and it isn't Lyndasharp who is holidaying up here :o )

I'm waiting for someone to collect my freecycle items but think I have time to nip to the post office first to beat the holiday weekend. I MUST get marshmallows for making the top hats for DGD's party tomorrow! Hope PO hasn't sold out of them as well!

Hope everyone has a good day! Sophiesmum I love the album idea, I thought about that for my gran but we ended up getting photographer to come and take photographs of entire family together - nobody missing out to be the photographer :)
