Hugs & commiserations to those that need them, well done to those who have super-frugalised their gas consumption and welcome back to BlueFleur, although I never removed your name from the challenger list in the first place. :D

A Fabulous Frugalling Moment today, while entering my meter readings online! A window popped up to warn me that the reading for gas is 'a lot less than expected' - ie NO gas used at all since last time. Yup, that would be right. Can't wait for the meter reader to come and check. :D:D:D

Well done!! I had to phone up and double confirm mine because the system couldn't believe it was so low :rotfl: :rotfl: I just need to work on the Electricity bill... hmmmmmmm...

    EXCELLENT!

Over the coming autumn & winter months, it's going to be interesting hearing how many people have become so energy efficient that the companies begin checking up on us all! In the grand scheme of things, I'm sure this is what the Governments want - the public to solve the massive problem of using up all the natural resources. Well, we can't do it all on our own but I'm sure that the numbers of us on here who have cut down, recycled, homegrown, homemade, reduced waste and lowered our carbon footprints must seriously contribute! And I think we all deserve a reduction in our Council Tax as compensation for becoming such 'model citizens', don't you think? :T
Vote FLP! (Frugal Living Party) :rotfl:

    ((((Hugs)))) SF

I'm down because I'm back to work tomorrow after a week off :undecided

Hugs Slowlyfading, and Taka - I've been down recently because I'm NOT back to work tomorrow after 3 years off; funny how we wish for such different things :rotfl:[Janey, I really wish Tom could walk back through the door :grouphug:]

Even more funny is the idea that I could achieve my list today :rotfl:Woke up full of cold in true ME style so we stayed in bed til half one reading the papers and listening to music (OH brought me breakfast in bed, which doesn't happen v often but as OH pointed out, that's because I don't stay in bed long enough :rotfl:). Then we made it as far as the sofa and watched the closing ceremony :rotfl:Eventually did a bit of work at 4 so one lot of mushrooms are sliced and in the freezer, the rest of the broccoli has been picked/frozen and the windfalls were picked up. OH has put the shelving in the greenhouse, cleared the broccoli and spinach beds and around the veg beds, cut down the diseased plum tree, sorted the shed and various other tinkering I haven't seen yet. So still lots to do this week but a nice day, and the sun even came out while we worked!
I have a very large goose about to take off sat in the middle of my lounge (one of OH's sculptures) :D Thankfully it'll be going to live in mum and dad's garden soon til it gets sold.
Great work on the free bathroom Nyk :T And all the frugal energy bills too! (Janey, Marru and I have been known to partake of the real choc digestives too, but only on offer or cheap from my local market ;))
Welcome back Bluefleur! BB, your list was so much more sensible than mine, hope you got it done and had a lovely time with friends.
Right, tomorrow I will attempt to make the big chilli, although where I'll put it I'm not quite sure as I've nearly filled both my freezers now :o
Sophiesmum, hope you make the gym tonight.
    Is JumbleBee still out there?

I have a visitor gap so have rushed to tell you about my exciting afternoon

Did I mention I have had a flock of sheep in my garden for 2 days ?
I was congratulating myself on getting the grass cut for free :j when I had a sudden realisation
What goes in one end has to exit somewhere :o

I have spent an hour ....I believe the technical term is...poo picking  :rotfl:

:rotfl: excellent janey - free fertilizer for the veggies:T .
Bails - knackered by excellent time with friends. So just managed one load of roasted peppers. And currently have bread dough that seems to be refusing to rise. MMmm, and that was going to be OH's lunch tomorrow. Cake making deferred to tomorrow with 2nd lot of peppers.
Can't believe the turn around in the weather today from heavy rain to glorious blue sky.
Slowly fading - any chance you can visit your Dad in Kuwait in a few months? Not remotely the same as having him around of course:grouphug: .
Off to have another look at bread, as another half hour passed...

Thanks for the welcome backs! I've been back tracking to get some ideas, I found it much easier to stick to my frugal plans when I was living at home with my parents :o Our food bills are particularly bad. I think I sense a pretty big learning curve ahead!

I'll vote FLP- council tax was a nasty shock when we moved out (naive I know).

If I can't find a full time job in the next few weeks, I'm going to take some money out of my savings, and go and stay with him for a while - it'll make a change, that's for sure! xx
