money saving does not and should not, apply just to people in debt. There are many people on here who are not in debt but keep their mouths closed because the over-riding culture on the site seems to be about getting out of debt and staying out of debt. It is almost as though people are keeping their heads down, if they have money, because the jealous ones come out of the woodwork

I admire the OP for wanting to get knowledgable. Knowledge is strength and at the very least will help her not to be `ripped off` by the scammers and fraudsters

The Debt-Free Wannabe and Savings & Investing forums cater for either end of the spectrum. You have to give an honest account of your situation to begin with whether you have, or have not money, as people will give an opinion using their time and effort based on this assumption.
I guess people don't like to have their time wasted.

    1) With 2 mill the case is likely to be too complex to get an answer on a forum, there are too many things to take into account and you need a full review. The amount of 'free' advice you get on here is likely to cost you more than the fees you would pay a professional from mistakes in investment strategy.

    2) Stop being cheap and pay some fees - the specialist investment advice is likely to help your parents 2 mill grow much faster from a full review.

THAT is why there is a difference in getting advice between investing £1 and £2mill in a forum.

This is the first time I have done this - so aplogies if I am go about things the wrong way.

I have £100,000 to invest for 2 years. I do not want anything with risk, but with the best interest rates. I am considering doing the NSI £15,000 tax free issues? Any ideas? Many thanks.

Oh one more thing....you hoped a little gem popped up.

Why dont you whack the full 2 mill in Latin America funds, you might have another £10mill on top in 5 years, sadly you might lose it all too.
