2 million - Where to save / invest?

I am in the enviable position of having 2 million to invest or save. I'm not really a stocks and shares player (mainly because I don't understand it), I much prefer the high interest savings account route. I have my full quota of premium bonds and mini cash isa and my home is mortgage free.

I have read Martins banking and savings page but I am wondering if there are any other routes or accounts for such a high amount of money? Private banking perhaps?

I am currently with Barclays Wealth but seem to be incurring large amounts of charges for transfering money, credit cards etc and unecessary fees.

To add a spanner in the works I also live abroad for most of the year although I do still have residence in the UK. I am looking into new debit and credit cards to reduce the fees on purchases abroad but I am stuck on the savings!

Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated.

Your post makes little sense. In 2006 you said you had £100,000 so how did it grow so quick?

Then by April 2008 you were asking about Tesco clubcard points.

Back in February you were making baskets to sell at car boot sales.

You were in Southampton in February, live in Croydon (not abroad) and are age 28 or 29 per previous threads.

You also love shoping in Boots!

If you now have 2 million, would you mind (briefly) explaining what currency this is & where it suddenly came from as well which country you have moved to as this will make a difference.

some people post to feed their egos off the envy and wistfulness their alleged affluence creates. As you ably point out, the existence of any such affluence is highly arguable in the first instance!

sad, really, when you think about it. He's probably working in Staples for minimum wage... Aww bless. If it's the only way he can get his kicks... I don't grudge him his fun.

You have apparantly turned £100k into £2 mill in less than 2 years but you are worried about the odd £1 charge on purchases abroad? Yet you chose Barclays Wealth which is an expensive and quite frankly basic option. Your priorities are strange for someone with that wealth. Normally tax, convenience and future planning is a more important consideration.

Or might have been Bill Gates position as he stepped down and I am sure he would have someone on for atleast 2million a year to replace him! I may be wrong though;)

Actually yeah while we're on the subject, what should I do with my two million Zimbabwean dollars?
