I'm out of contract with Flogas but still on the auto fill arrangement.
I have just received a top up, 590 litres at 75ppl plus VAT which on reading this thread seems expensive.
I'm thinking I should cancel the auto fill and when gas paid for (I do monthly standing order) look elsewhere.
I am in S Wales.0 -

Welcome to the forum.
I'm sorry to hear you are paying that extortionate price of 75ppl to Flogas. My tank here in Cornwall also gets filled by Flogas - currently for 36.04ppl - less than half! - under a subcontract to Extra Fuel.
Firstly, did Flogas inform you of the price before the fill? If not you probably have a case under the Unfair Trade Regs 2008. A check of these - and/or a visit to Trading Standards - might be time well spent. Even if they did you may get somewhere by pointing out how extortionate their price is - but from what we hear on the forum it's unlikely you'll get any joy.
Secondly, I'd recommend cancelling autofill - by a recorded delivery and/or an email with a 'read receipt' request AND a copy attached to the top of your tank so the tanker driver can see it.
Thirdly, I'd look for another supplier. Use the supplier finder on www.uklpg.org (put in your postcode). This only brings up members of the UK LPG trade association so there may be other suppliers. You may find you are within Cardiff Gas's delivery area. Forum users have spoken well of them. Their current price is 38ppl for everyone (tank owners pay a bit less). www.cardiffgas.co.uk
Switching is easy - if a new supplier is willing to take you on then they'll send/email a switch form for you to fill in and send back. They'll probably buy the tank off Flogas, unless they want to change it, and within 28 days you'll have a new supplier. The ONLY thing you need to do is fill in the form - the two suppliers do the rest. When Flogas get the form you can expect them to come back to you with an offer of gas at much less than 75ppl, maybe fixed for 12 months, plus a dollop of cash. How you react to this is up to you, of course ...but please post any reaction (from Flogas) on this forum. You might like to post on Trustpilot too.

My 2 yr contract with Calor ends at the end on January 2015,this is my first contract for LPG so don't know how it works at the end of the contract.......Do Calor write to me(soon I imagine) saying what they are going to offer for the next 2 years?or is it up to me to call and ask them? I can probably call other suppliers to see what they are offering now,but when can I actually say to one of them(if I am happy with what they offer) that I will switch to them?Do I have to wait until the old Calor contract is actually ended to start things off with a new supplier?
Calor should write to you very soon telling you you can switch suppliers. They will also probably make a (wonderful) offer, complete with a cash sum for being a loyal customer.
I suggest you work out how many litres you've used per year then contact all the potential suppliers for your postcode (from www.uklpg.org and there may be others who do not belong to the UKLPG trade association). You need to tell each one how much you use and they have to make an offer over the phone (if they want to supply) though this will be subject to a site visit to check your set up is acceptable. Do ask them how much the tank rental is too (this can vary widely).
You tell them you are getting quotes - and maybe contact Calor who will now find it possible to make a wonderful, wonderful offer.
Some haggling later you'll sign a switch notice for a new supplier, then their new contract ....or you'll sign a new contract with Calor. DO take care about wonderful, wonderful fixed price offers - read the small print ("until your eyes bleed" to quote HateLPG who posts the price charts): there are always get-out clauses for the supplier. Read the post by DAVID.T2 a few posts back (#2355): he's in the business and is really helpful for us users on this forum!
Please post the prices you get, ppl and tank rent (and the first bit of your post code and how much roughly you use): this helps other forum users.
Good luck!

There are a lot of negatives from low fuel prices as my shares ISA will show you but one of the benefits is a lower LPG price.
Lima Gas supplied me at the start of November for 37ppl, no tank charge for one year. The price is currently 34ppl.
Lima are a small company based in Southampton with a limited supply area in the South of England - worth approaching if you are in a position to switch supplier or a new customer. I am in South Devon so on the edge of their area in that direction.PLEASE DO NOT STEAL

Apologies for the interruption to service; Hopefully, I'll be able to keep on top of things moving forwards, and at present, at least it's all pretty much "good" news.
On the plus side, I've made the graph bigger for easier/clearer viewing and as an extra little Christmas present for you all, it also now includes prices for the past 12 months for two additional suppliers who publish online: Carvers (http://www.carvers.co.uk/gas-supplies) and LP Gas Wales Direct (http://www.lpgaswalesdirect.co.uk/)
Here's wishing all readers a warm and cozy LPG-fuelled Christmas.
Enjoy :beer:0 -
There is a charity in Warwickshire (called EnergyWarwickshire) offering 41ppl for bulk LPG. I phoned for some information and the LPG is supplied by FloGas.0

I've been offered through Jon Rose a contract with Flogas of 38p fixed first year, 41.5p for second year and £250 free gas. Have not been able to beat that.0

I'm currently with Avantigas @ 46p/l with the contract due to expire next month.
Jon Rose has offered me a similar deal: 39p/l fixed for 12 months +£250 worth of gas + max. 3.5p/l increase in year 2.
Having been with Flogas until about 4 years ago and paying more than double today's offer, I don't trust them to keep to their offer and have asked for alternative suppliers.
I remember at least one Flogas, notification of price increase blamed on increased oil prices and wonder if they've notified their customers of a price reduction considering the current oil/barrel price.0 -
My contract with Calor expires in February, Im paying 54.6ppl in North Cornwall, just had a quote from Flogas of 39ppl , plus increase limited to 3.5 pence in any 6 month period, £150 of gas credit and a 24 month contract.
I am tempted but will see what Calor will offer, is there any other supplier in Cornwall, I have seen Avantigas but do not know much about them.0
