Honey was £2.39 (for Gales, the fair trade was £2.99) so did not buy it for now. Might pop into Tesco next time I am through there (15 miles away from home) and hopefully get a cheaper jar there.
I found my hm bread did not prove properly with sugar, only with honey- would brown sugar work better ?

Hi SP. Don't forget to check out the 'Jamie Feed the family for a fiver competition' thread as the winning meal was a fab indian consisting of lamb koftas, coconut dhal and spicy potatoes. It was deliciious even when I made it, lol.

    Hi all

Just been catching up on posts and updating my sig.

I only appear to have £22 to last the month but I do have loads of food in and really only need to buy bread, milk and cereal (which I forgot this week) and then maybe some fruit/veg - so I should be ok.

This morning I made a huge pan of veggie chilli which me and little man had for lunch with rice. There is enough left to have with pasta (I make it very mild so it would pass for a beany bolognaise), 2 portions for me to take to work on monday and tuesday with something or other and 2 portions in the freezer. I have also made a tesco value jelly with tesco value fruit cocktail which only cost a few pence. It looks ok! We will be having it with yoghurt or ice cream for the next day or 3.

    Quick question.
Do I need the milk powder in the iced buns?
Can I replace it with milk?
    Thanks in advance x

    Good afternoon all,
Been to Mr M this morning and got 2 packets of the 50p chicken, there were only a few left, the girl on the till said they are having another 6 items for 50p on Monday but no-one knows until they go into work Mon. morning. Hope its lamb chops.:rotfl:
The chicken portions are quite a good size.
Lidl have definitely increased their prices, me thinks it is a way of making their money while we were having half price F&V.
Going to friends fo a meal tonight so do not have to cook. I am going to cook my lovely Chicken that I got with the M&S meal deal, I put it in the freezer,
but could not wait for choc puddings and wine.;)
Hope you all have a nice evening.
