Evening all was it only this morning I last posted?? Am VERY tired. Anyway managed to get a few things done. Went shopping( bought the "usual fayre-baking spuds, ready made pizza etc BUT actully bought some real FOOD for us:j ) Managed to get a couple of mass cards as well. I was having some trouble finding any but thats one problem less. Might need some food related advice tomorrow(you lucky lot) ended up with 11 relitives today. 5 in one car; 3 in another and 3 flew in. Anyway they are all setteled in various places so thats good. No idea how many more we are expecting but that is not a problem. DH looks wrecked. We went to bed very early but got woken up by some neighbours (who are old enough to know better)at 2am! Enough said I think.

  • *ds1 got super smash bros brawl on the wii, the guy in the shop said its really rubbish if you just have the wii remote so he convinced me to also buy a gamecube controller which works way better*

Kyle- We use the wii mote and nunchuck, though I have to admit I thought I was going to have to backtrack to the gamecube cont. coz Im used to playing Melee on the gamecube. Plus if yor ds1 is anything like my oh, you'll lose him for the best part of two days....and counting. Mind you I suppose thats with a few proper brawls trough in, I love playing the target practise too.

On the subject of afternoon naps, both me and oh plonked for a nap this afternoon, only for me to wake up and feel like its morning...scary biscuits.

Hi everyone - I keep losing my connection for some reason.

Kyle - my DH once offered to hoover upstairs for me when I was really busy; I asked him afterwards if he had done all the bedrooms and he said 'yes'. He didn't know that I was watching him and all he did was push the hoover into the first part of the rooms from the landing. He didn't actually go into the rooms at all! He said they didn't look as if they needed hoovering but that's not the point, is it?

Hester - you put yourself and your DD first, girl. You strike me as the one who takes on everyone else's burdens but, now and again, you have to say no. You work hard and have your own pressures; you don't need to take on more. (((Hugs))) to you.

Grannybroon - Amy Winehouse has the most fantastic voice and I am bewildered at how she is squandering her talent. I really think she will have a short life; I know if I was her Mum I wouldn't let her out of my sight; it would be too much worry. I think she needs to be looked after properly like a child until she really has grown up. I heard her once singing a ballad and it brought tears to my eyes; a wonderful voice but a sad waste.

Anyway, I have had a bath and really just lazed the evening away; you'd think after a three hour nap I'd be full of energy but it's not to be. Maybe tomorrow.

DH has phoned from his friend's house in France but, as he had had five glasses of wine, he wasn't too coherent! At least I know he got there safely.

Anyway, off to have a mooch around the other threads. See you all later.

    Hey M

Hope you enjoyed your bath. Just watched Amy on Glastonbury and | am even more worried. The poor girl looked haunted! Glad DH has got to his first stop. At least he has phoned!

Evening, late on tonight....for some reason my AOL would not let me on-line
I was fortunate enough to see Amy Winehouse live last summer, I think it was one of the few gigs she did. It was supporting Artic Monkeys at Old Trafford. I really enjoyed her performance, it has been very sad to watch her spiral out of control. :(

Huge but gentle hugs to those in need.

    Love to all The Twit.

I've never really liked Amy winehouse's music - I don't do soul or jazz - but I have tremendous respect for her struggle. Exoh and I recently had a row about letting dd(11) listen to her as he thinks she's a bad role model but I think there's no better example of the harm that drugs do - poor lass and I so feel for her family.

swimming was fun - dd(18) is entitled to a discount card that lets her swim for 50p and the girl on the desk thinks that I might be able to get one to as I get WTC - hope she's right. I may do swimming lessons in the Autumn. Had a frustrating time at Argos trying to buy one of the tents that are in their special offers flyer but can't be bought, reserved or delivered for love nor money. i've ordered one from a different company online but am cutting it a bit fine with delivery.

dgs(3) has been helping look after Nana admirably until he got a bit excited watching dr who and "the garlics". dd(23)'s bf gave him coke before they left which didn't help. He's asleep now but has spent most of the night jumping off the sofas to exterminate me - hopefully he'll have a mega lie in tomorrow
I'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 2008
