    Afternoon guys n dolls

Have spent most of the day doing nice things but now it's time for the grotty jobs. The flat is looking rough and in need of some attention. The lounge needs a good tidy and the hoover pushed round, the kitchen needs a scrub and a bleach, as does the bathroom. My bedroom could do with a blast of some fairy dust and some tlc but we'll see how far I mange to get...

May make a veggie cottage pie later, or some potato wedges, depends on how energic I feel after my housework sprint!

Ever wonder about those people who spend £2 apiece on those little bottles of Evian water? Try spelling Evian backward.

have just watched Murray win against Haas, good match, not screamingly exciting, but very good to have someone to cheer for

posted a couple of items on eBay

had a long chat with DB2, will ring Mum in a bit, long chat with both DD1 and DD2 yesterday which was lovely. DD2 opening up a bit now and we spoke a bit about when she was a teenager and disappearing off for weeks at a time. She is having adolescent problems with her son (almost 17) and thinks that she was an angel compared to him - hah - how quickly we forget!

just taken a gooseberry crumble out of the oven for OH. Tried having 500 calories of real food yesterday, instead of the 500 calories I have on LighterLife. I almost made it, but ended up scoffing an entire tin of rice pudding in a weak moment. It WAS low fat!

Oh well, back to the tedious shakes and bars today.

Picked another enormous bunch of sweet peas, my first rose is looking glorious, the Little Gem lettuce are coming along a treat and everything in the garden is lovely.

    A good day

love and (((((hugs))))) to all those who need them. Off to do a bit of weeding

    Hiya :hello:

Just popping on before Dr Who starts. :D
I had to take DD2 to the docs this morning as she has conjunctivitis, I was lucky to get an appointment at such short notice. She's got to stay in for the weekend as we don't want her sharing it with her little friends.
The only things I've done today are visit docs, strip and wash beds, pile of ironing, some sunday school work and make a chicken curry for tea.
    Have a good evening.:D

OMG! I know I said I was feeling lazy but I can't believe how long my 'quick' nap turned out to be! I only sat down on the sofa for an intended half an hour or so but woke up three hours later and I still don't feel like doing much! Oh, well, as my Mum would say, 'you obviously needed it'!

Dorry - what a fantastic picture of your DS and his team! Well done to them all!

Hester - I hope things get sorted with your BIL.

Kyle - Happy Anniversary for tomorrow. How on earth did your DH think he could get away with saying the hoover was broken when it wasn't?!

Chrisca - (((Hugs))) to your DIL and to you - the waiting must be nerve-wracking.

Wanttobeasaver - welcome to you; you'll soon become as addicted as the rest of us. I discovered moneysavingexpert about eighteen months ago and can honestly say that I have probably saved thousands of pounds since then because of it. I found this thread whilst browsing and think it's the best one of the whole site. You get masses of support when needed, you can share good times as well as bad and no-one will ever judge or criticise you, everyone is so friendly, there is always someone to answer a question or give advice and we have a genuine laugh as well. I count the boys and girls here as true friends although we have never met.

Oh, well - I must go and find something constructive to do - like make a cup of coffee and settle down to some knitting and that huge bar of Turkish Delight!

Will call back later. Have a great evening, everyone!

    Hi there

Well hair cut this morning - missed my appointment 4 weeks ago so a bit of a transformation!

Have cut the grass and done some dead heading. Had a cup of tea with neighbours this afternoon, cleaned out our very geriatric hamster, reheated a portion of freezer chilli and cooked some rice whilst watching Racing Stripes. What a lovely film. Also changed bedding in spare room and just about to hang out overnight as I think forecast OK. Maybe should have done the ironing but tomorrow is another day.

Also caught a bit of the rerun of Mandelas's 90th birthday concert. I do worry about Amy Winehouse - that poor girl has huge problems.

Love and hugs to you all.
