Good morning everyone  Off for the sticky............

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for today. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

We had a lovely evening - managed to dodge the showers and ate outside. We cooked on the chiminea and then stoked it up to continue sitting outside into the evening :j I cooked HM herb and shallot burgers, local sausages, radish raitha, loads of salad from the garden, and HM HG rhubarb fool

The weather is forecast to be even better today :T I'm going running, then all the family is out (DS and DH at a :footie: :footie: :footie: tournament; DD at a training event for her summer volunteering). I'm going to finish the ironing, and tidy round, then go into the garden. There's not much to do apart form some weeding, and planning the next changes we want to do :j

Jackie - I raised a glass or two, to you last night - you're an inspiration :A

Pooky - belated :bdaycake: wishes :j

Catowen - well done :T  :j

:hello: :hello: :hello: to the Hussies

:grouphug: for you all

Have a great day, Penny. x

Morning penelope and all who follow.

Looks a bit cloudy and threatening out there. I have a week off and so I shall be enjoying that. I can't help thinking about the pile of work I left behind in the office, but I have too.

I am not sure what to do today. I have the wall and patio project to think about starting Monday, and church and friends over on Sunday. So I might go out and just enjoy the day.

I also lack inspiration....... Have a nice day

Good morning Pen-Pen and all who follow, and thanks once again to all of you who had a drink ,virtual or otherwise, last night for my future .Well as I said yesterday, its onwards and upwards now.
Today is the first day of the rest of my life, and I intend to make the most of it .I am up at the crack of dawn as I never pack properly until the morning that I go.away, and in over 50 years I have never yet forgotten anything .I know I was 'late on parade' last night but if you read my last post you will see why. I felt so honoured last night when I read all of your good wishes I'm really only an ordinary ,but very fortunate woman, to have all of you rooting for me .Plus of course my smashing girls .They are terrific, and I couldn't have got through the last year, let alone five years without them.
I hope you all have a good week and those in need take a big ,but gentle <<hug>>
Love to you all See you next week, God willing

    Morning everyone
the weather forecast is great but i`m not sure that it will be very accurate yet perhaps it`s still too early to tell. Hopefully it will be lovely as forecast as the second load of washing is almost finished.

This is the first day of my week off :j and i have a huge list of things to do, i may have to have the tiniest of naps later though as i`ve only had 4 hours sleep so i`ll feel it later.

Today will be a list making day if i do this and get organised then i`m sure i`ll get most of the things done that have been on the agenda for a while.
I may do the weekly shop today but it could also wait until tomorrow as we have plenty in atm, mustn`t forget the 50p butter at Asda though so hope there`s plenty left:D
Dh will be up soon and off to w**k and then i have the house to myself:D i`m really looking forward to today but i`ve no idea why as there is nothing really planned - perhaps i just feel so good knowing i don`t have to go to w**k for a while? I`m rambling now so i`ll wander off and catch up later:rolleyes:

    Have a wonderful holiday Jackie_O

(((HUGS))) for everyone today - just help yourself:D

hope you have a lovely time away jackio0. can concur with how wonderful it feels to have support from friends both cyber and real.

today for me, not sure. feel quite sick - not sure if its because i'm not eating through nerves or because I'm ill if you know what I mean. should really force myself to go out and keep going with life, but I just want to crawl back under the duvet again.

    hugs to everyone

Right. Hugs to all who need them.

Yesterday I did manage to get some colours in the wash, on the line and ironed....a record for me. All in one day wow! Was going to start the whites today....but look out the window and its drizzling. Not much use really. So that'll have to wait until either the rain stops or the weather improves next week.

Mum's birthday is all sorted and I've settled up my 'debt' with my sister.

Gave the kitchen a good once over yesterday as well. Still a few jobs to do...the oven is one thrilling task that springs to mind. It'll get done eventually.

We'll probably have pizza for tea ... its the usual on Saturday evenings. Simple too with little washing up.

I can't go shopping as I've used up my budget for the next few days sorting mum out. But the cupboards have plenty in them, so by Monday I should be off and running again. Mind you at some point I have to return a tenner to my daughter's saving pot. Stole it last night to pay my sister off. She won't mind...she loves me...and she's little so she won't know anything about it anyway.

Could make some cakes...but last time OH ignored them until they went funny. The same never happens when its a victoria, but then it disappears rather quick too....suspect that might be because I tend to help it on its way a touch. I'll have to think about it.

    Bye all.

Hi all. Jackie0 - you are most definitely not an ordinary person - you are remarkable, inspirational and a tonic to anyone who is feeling down. I would never describe you as ordinary - extraordinary, yes! I know you've had fantastic treatment but your positive courageous attitude has a lot to do with how you have come through this. (((Hugs))) to you and have a great holiday!

(((Hugs))) to Smoky, PenPin, Beth and her DBs, Candygirl's Dad, Kyle's LO, Jayward, Hilstep, Mrs Mix, Anniestar - and I know I must have forgotten someone so (((hugs))) to all.

Well, DH has just left for France; actually he left twice but came back for the inevitable forgotten thing! In between drinking to Jackie0's future last night I was doing last-minute ironing and checking that DH has everything he needs - not an easy task because he is absent minded. One of his sub-contractors is going with him so they have three and a half hours driving to do from the ferry at Caen to his friend's house near Samur, where they'll stay the night, then they are helping another friend nearby who is moving back to the UK - he needs help loading up his truck. Then they have at least seven hours drive to DH's brother's place near Mont Blanc and, after an evening socialising with the local brew, will start work the following day. He has just found out he has some more work for the week after back near Samur so will come back with even more pennies, which will be most welcome.

Anyway, after a hectic few months culminating in our little 'tif' this week, I have some 'me' time; I shall make the most of it because as soon as he is back, everything will be manic again.

Today I need to go food shopping but won't need a lot. I have invites to each son's house this week for dinner which will be lovely. They worry that I'm on my own and don't believe me when I say I don't mind! Anyway, the rest of the meals will be simple affairs because I want to spend my time getting the wedding favours finished, sorting out some cupboards, filing the never-ending paperwork and chilling with chocolate. I always buy the big bar of Cadbury's Turkish Delight when I go food shopping - looks like I'll be the only one eating it! Yum!

Anyway, BM is on, WM is on, ironing is completely up to date and the house is tidy apart from needing a quick hoover. I need to mow the lawns later but will have to keep an eye on our gloomy skies.

My future DIL phoned last night to finalise plans for the hen weekend next Friday; twelve of us are going and she is driving me, her Mum and her sister which is great. She has booked a cottage in Tavistock which I'm really looking forward to. I've been to Devon loads of times because my DH was born there but I've never been to Tavistock.

Anyway, will love you and leave you for now. Have a good day, everyone.

    Morning everyone

JackieO what a lovely family you have. Enjoy your holiday (and your gin).
kyle didn't you have plans to go shopping in Inverness today with your DSs? What a shame you had a carp night's sleep. Hope you manage a power nap and feel better.
poppyoscar hope your haircut is a stunner. Enjoy the jazz festival.
dogrose ((((hugs)))) to you. You really need to take care of yourself. Sorry, don't mean to sound as though I'm nagging but you won't be any use to anyone else if you are poorly.
(((hugs)))) to everyone who needs one.

Woke up early so thought I would have a quick look at the John Lewis clearance sale. Put a couple of items in the shopping basket then asked myself the three questions ;) and of course I put them back because (1) I didn't need them, (2) yes I maybe could afford them but I'm going on holiday soon and don't need any unnecessary spending and (3) yes, I definitely could find them cheaper elsewhere. So, this site has saved me money yet again. :T

The only plan for today is to clear out my "present" stash as it is taking up more and more space in my bedroom and I have lost track of what I have and who it is for so really need to get that organised.

Other than that, not much planned. Just as well as I have sore throat that is slowly spreading up into my ears too (so, so itchy!). Still, that is nothing compared to what others are suffering at the moment so I really can't complain.

    Have a sunny Saturday. xx

Morning all. Just a very quick one as have far more to do today than available day if you see what I mean! Bit shorter than I had originaly planned as Phoebe did her amazing run over hte keyboard and "do things" to the laptop!(tp be honest she has far more computer skills than I have !)Had a nice sleep which always helps.
Got the first relitaves comming over today only about 6 in the first lot then more over hte next few days. We will just play it by ear not a great deal anyone can do or say in circumstances like htis. I really wish I hadn't been ill a sI normally have loads of stuff in the freezer-at the mo apart from quorn saussages various other quorn things there is only some ice lollies, half a bag of broccoli and AN AWFUL LOT OF ICE!(and not in a G&T kind of way either!)
I hope everyone has a good day.
    Kyle(((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))) ENJOY iNVERNESS.
