You know when you are trundling along, thinking you've got everything under control, then life throws you a curve ball. Well we just got our curve ball. Jumped in the car this morning to go to the horses, tried to put the car in gear and all I got was crunch, grind. Done 71k and the clutch has gone. Looking at £700-£1000 to get the wretched thing mended. Only problem is how to get the chuffing thing to the garage and me to work as OH will use the other car. Any suggestions on a postcard please. Also where to find the money would also be useful.

Had a lovely ride on the horses and even rode them to my house, though mine did have a slight hissy fit coming up the drive. Had a cup of coffee and rode them back. Supposed to be going to a 40th tonight but had to cancel due to the car scenario as no money to spend in the bar and buy a gift. Feeling really !!!!!! off. OH is very down as well. We really don't go out very often and to get invited and not go is a lot of a bummer.

Good job holiday is paid for or we wouldn't be going. Got a very grumpy DD2 as she was looking forward to going out. Hopefully hitching a lift on the school bus into work and the chap who I pay to ride the horses will come and get me instead of riding. Still got the hassle of getting the sodding car into the garage.
