Managed to clear the ironing and the kids just have to put theirs away. Also delivered all Avon bar 2 parcels. Rode the horse but didn't go that far as still settling in. Hoping to watch The Apprentice tonight not sure who'll win.

DD1s Birthday tomorrow so I've just baked a cake. Will ice it tomorrow. Off proper work tomorrow but helping a friend so a few extra pennies. DD1 wanted a whole box of crunchy nut clusters to herself so she has got that instead of the traditional box of Maltesers. As well as a few surprises.

Think I will have to save up to get some electric fence kit for the horses. The grass is just too much for them and I'm worried they might get laminitis. Had a more knowledgeable friend over who also agrees with me. Just over a week until pay day, so will get pricing some up.

Got to pay for the holiday just into July. I need to sit down and have a good look at the budgets. Also need to get OHs accounts sorted and VAT return done.

Managed to bottom the ironing pile again. Where does it all come from? Going to get all pruney in the bath.

Definitely a good idea fencing an area off there is some good information on the Laminitis Trust website. I have always struggled with my mare being underweight but she has been in such good condition recently the vet said to be careful with the summer turnout - something I have never had to think about with her! x x

I agree. Fencing off an area is a good idea. I have to do double electric fencing as the Captain jumps the single fencing to get to whatever area takes his fancy! He had laminitis when he was a foal, just four months old. His mum died because of it.

So here is the slightly late half year up date. I should've done it on the 11th but i've been busy. Our debt now stands at £32699.48 and the overdrafts have gone up as predicted and now stand at £3350. 1 overdraft has no interest added the other is slowly being paid back at £10 per week. According to the snowball we will be debtfree in 33 months. I would be happy at 30 and I am aiming for that.

On another note I have ordered some electric fencing off ebay, which has been paid for out of my earnings from my 'other sort of job'. I still need to get the cars tires sorted out and hope to get this with this months child benefit when it comes. The 'rams' that make the car boot work have broken and I am waiting for a quote for those. Every time you open the boot it tries to decapitate you!

Horses have had their noses suncreamed and I am off to make some homemade fly repellent, recipe courtesy of Golden Goose, thanks for that one. I have arranged for an ex-jockey who lives near me to give me a hand with the boys and take mine out a couple of times a week to help settle him in and get him used to the stable as he has issues with it. I don't want to get to winter and have a fight on my hands. Going to up date my siggy.

So impressed with your energy and drive. I have one DS and that takes it out of me. Reading your thread has kicking me into cooking action at least and I taught DS how to make sponge (his all time favourite) today. Recipe was interspersed with "and now we wash up" in the vain hope that that bit might connect somewhere in his small boy brain.

What is laminitis - sounds awful?

Laminitis is a disease in horses caused by them gorging themselves on the young spring grass in particular - it causes inflammation in their feet and of course because the inner parts of the foot are encased in hoof it causes excrutiating pain. If you see a horse in a field, leaning backwards on all four feet, that's a good sign of laminitis. Once they have had it once they are more prone to it in the future to - hence Piq's concerns with The Captain. Just one of the many delights that horse owners have to give thought to!

I am surprised that I still remember that much after all these years!

Lucielle you're doing brilliantly - that 30 month target sounds like a realistic one to aim for too, without trying to take on too much and ending up running out of steam.

Thanks EH - that's sounds awful.

Lucille - I hope the boys will be fine. How's the job going? Did DS1 ever get his mole traps and ferret?

Job is ok. DS1 did get his mole traps but no ferret. Too many small fingers to be nibbled on and they are quite smelly even the girls.

Thanks for the posts, I often feel as if |I'm rabbiting away to myself. Which reminds me, DS1 has been to his friends farm and had a brilliant time playing on quads, 2 wheel motorbikes and shooting. His friend managed to miss all the rabbits but they had some in the freezer. So, for tomorrow nights tea its going to be Bugs bunny done in the slow cooker.

I seem to have spent the whole weekend moving children from A to B and back again. All sprogletts are back in the nest and I have even managed to get some of them bathed and hair washed! Go me!

Must get some baking done this week, also have to arrange DD1s birthday party, deliver last Avon parcel, place Avon order and get the books ready. Might even manage an evening ride this week.
