Be kind to yourself my dear. It's really hard when they go away and when it's so far, well......

    It does get easier, honest.

How long has he gone for initially?

Lots of love, hugs and happy thoughts

I can't believe how upset I am over DS1 going away, normally I'm part of the stiff upper lip brigade but currently sat here in bits AGAIN. Had to escape work for 10 mins yesterday as I had another wobble. Why can't I get a grip on myself, the kids are handling it better than me! He's driven me up the wall this last couple of weeks.

Now far be it from me to tell anyone how to be a parent but I know exactly what you mean and kinda how you're feeling.

DD's just back from 3.5 months and for a lot of it I've been in total bits about the 'enormaty' of it all.

Good or bad I've not been at work per se but I've been in bits.

A good friend said to me, imagine that you've instilled in them such confidence and love that they'll go/try anything (within reason :p) he's such a credit to you and how your family are. It didn't help but it did make me think how much they've grown.

Hugest of hugs its hard but I know you super excited too - so many emotions.

    Be nice to yourself :)

    xx

  • PS when she came back, within about an hour I was tearing my hear out at how messy she was etc.

3.5 months of pining, and as soon as she was back it got back to normal pretty quickly.

How are you today my lovely. Wise words there from Pippi. It was the hardest thing in the world saying goodbye to my DD when she flew off to Oz and I have to say I still miss her terribly but the pain does settle. As a mum you just want to know they are safe and happy and the rest pails into insignificance really

I feel your pain there, my 1st Christmas without DD was awful. She had flown off to Tenerife for a year in November. I tried to celebrate Christmas with her a month early and had to keep myself together for OH and DSs sake, he was only 12, but gosh it was hard.

It can be made easier with Skype/FaceTime though x

Just had a phone call from DS1. He's had his first day of feeling normal and helped out with his first milking. Slowly finding his feet. Lovely to hear from him.

Meeting my s-I-l and b-I-l today, having a quick lunch and then a walk over to Dunstanburgh castle. Looking forward to it.

Got to start getting DS2s turkey stuff as they are due to arrive shortly. Pen is ready just need food and bedding etc.

So glad youre feeling better, must have been nice to hear from him. All this talk of christmas and turkeys is making me nervous. Still autumn sunshine today to cheer us up.
