Went to see the Hobbit last night, it was really good and we can't wait for the next installments. Had takeaway pizza and garlic bread on the way out, t'was very yummy.
Just bobbed into the village dn had a quick look in the outdoorsy type shop as I usually pick up a few Christmas pressies but nothing floated my boat. Got some civilised (seville) oranges to make some marmalade and the usual bits and bobs of milk etc. Picked up my photos from the horse riding weekend, they look quite good.
Had to purchase a new iron as DS1 killed mine by leaving it switched on all night. Grrr. Hate buying irons, got one for £16 from Argos.
Dropped DS1 and his friend off at beating, will see him later.

Made the marmalade for OH as I don't like it. OH has nearly finished the bathroom, need a bit more grout, the sparky to fit the light and 1 wall to paint and skirting boards to do. Not much then.
Made a very nice roast pork with all the trimmings for tea, yummy. Otherwise not done very much as we didn't get up till 12.

Things are a bit difficult money wise at the moment. Even though the debt is a lot lower than when we started things seem to be harder than ever. I have been in talks with the working family twonks people and the accountant, I think the figures are now corect. It does mean that we are £90pw worse off as they have decided they've overpaid us. The annoying thing was that I did phone up to confirm the amount as I thought it was a lot. So we have to grin and bear it till April the we might get £45pw.
I think till then its going to be minimum payments which is going to kill me as I really want it gone.
Business wise we really need it to pick up. We're having to borrow £1600 from the tax account to pay the VAT. We're also about £2000 short for this months invoices.
The good points are that the freezer is full so I can hopefully cut corners on the grocery budget, which did need taming. No council tax payments coming up, so potential there for an overpayment. Also the payment we're having to make for DD1s Thailand trip will stop in April.
Have sanded the walls in the bathroom and washed all the surfaces down. Tomorrow night we'll paint as long as I remember to bring the rollers home from the workshop. Sparky is coming on Friday.

Tax credits were a nightmare for us as we always owed back what they paid us so gave it up a few years ago.
Good to hear the bathroom is coming along nicely.
Hope hubby can get some more work to help the money situation.I can empathise with you as being self employed isn't the easiest but can be rewarding eventually0 -
Second and final coat of paint applied. Have wacked the heating on in the hopes of getting it dry as everybody wants a bath. We do have a shower but its just not the same. Also had to confess to using the tumble drier as I'm struggling to get things dried and sometimes having to wash them again as they smell funny.
Work has been rubbish this week. Today I had to have a word with a colleague as the atmosphere was terrible. I think a line can be drawn underneath it but I feel like I'll have to watch my back.
Back on the healthy eating but went to bed on Tuesday night at 9 as I felt so awful. OH tucked me in with a hot water bottle and woke up at 6, ravenous, so decided to put a load of washing on and then it would be washed and on the airer before I went to work.
Ds came home with a load of skinless sausages. His boss didn't get the skins so they just minced the meat up and we had to make sausage shapes out of them.
Off to have our portraits done at the weekend, its with a voucher I got when I got my car. We're having a bit of a country theme and we're all wearing our wellies and check shirts. DS1 is going to take his crook that he made on his course. Hope the weather behaves.

That was brave of you to have a word with a colleague, I'm one of those who seethes under the skin but hates confrontation!
I'm trying to get back into healthy eating, the suit was decidedly tight todaySo, no more baking no matter how stressed I am. I might look into knitting as a pastime instead of cooking.

Normally I like to adopt the ostritch but I'd had enough. There is 3 of us and its not a good number. At least I didn't involve the office manager and its sorted for now.
