Has been an odd weekend. Spent Saturday morning in the workshop, most of the afternoon curling DD1s hair ready for the after show dance. DS1 did well at the show with his bosses sheep and won quite a few classes. His friend came and slept over after the dance think they all had a good time. I got up quite early and made them all a cooked breakfast, scoring some mummy points. DS1 had managed to locate some Sloes, so in the afternoon went and picked a bucketful, which I've frozen in 1lb packs, ready to meet the Gin.

On the debt busting front, I had a look at the snowball this weekend and we could be debt free by Dec 2012 BUT this is as long as a repayment of £1110. HOWEVER we are only currently doing £800, so I've changed the amount and that gets us back to 19 months, which is pretty soul destroying. Anyway, onwards and upwards.

19 months is nothing, really, when you think just how far you have come already! OK, yes, it would be lovely to think that by the end of next year you could be debt free, but if the reality is different, it is better to know now than to feel as though you are failing to keep up with your expectations all year.

Besides, just because the snowball now says 19 months, doesn't mean you won't get some extra money in to throw at the debt, and to bring it down sooner, does it? The snowball is only a guide, at the end of the day - if you manage a few extra £££ here and there you know how much difference it will make in the long run!!

    Morning Lucielle

How are you today? What about your back? I am sure you are as busy as ever and its hard work keeping up with a family.
Don't annoy yourself too much about the extra few months. Look upon it as THE maximum time it will take you to clear the debt and then with little extra payments you will pull it down.

How are the turkeys doing? Watch out for Mr Fox he loves a bit of turkey!!!!

    Take care :)

Hi EQ, turkeys are DS2s project, they are of, still ugly 8uggers! Back is at the niggly stage but I'm not taking any pain killers or at least trying not to. We've come this far so will just have to keep plodding. Still not sure we'll ever be completely debt free as my car is getting very tired and we have no means of buying another one outright. Still as long as it does keep chugging along it'll do for now but it has clocked 107000 and will be doing a lot more when I'm whizzing up and down with DS1. Luckily I got the AA homestart for £15 a month, which sounds a lot but covers some major mechanical bits as well.

    Hi Lu

I think we all have to remember life is for living, an adventure - and not to obsess too much on DFD if it stops us enjoying the moments along the way.... You have done amazing to pay off what you have while bringing up kids with all their rural adventures along the way!

Thanks chaps, its been such a big part of our lives for so long, almost like a bloody long labour and I'm desperate for it to 'crown'. Anyway a really busy night. Finished work, collected DS2 from his rugby match (they won) threw him out at home, grabbed the puppy and DS1 and took them to the vets. Luckily OH managed to finish on time and get the tea served (I had put the slow cooker on before I left at 6) and then did the Scout run.

Phew, finished bathed and watching Mary Portas.

    Payday tomorrow!!!!!!!
