Thanks Ltm, its galling to think of where this money is going and the things we could with it! However, its character building getting out of it (at least that's what I tell myself).
I am trying desperately to hoover the living room but the children are playing Monopoly, its funny listening to them debating the cost of houses and whether to buy one or not. Also trying to pluck up courage to go outside and get some food out the freezer. Its freezing and wet!!!! Must also dip the oil tank and pray it doesn't need filling up.

We have paid alot less off than you in comparison, what you have paid off is fantastic, but how lovely would it be just to have the £3,000 that we have paid off in the bank. I tak it you have cleared over £12k in your first 6 months on here, that is asolutely brilliant! We are becoming more & more inspired by threads like yours. Hopefully we can clear around £5k by the time of our wedding next August, then after that we are going to aim for a grand a month, all being well! All the best & keep up the good work!Debt at LBM(July 1st 07)-£35,053.92 Debt on 1st Anniversary of LBM(July 1st 08)-£33,170.11 (31st January 09)-£32,318.73Paid off so far £2,735.19(7.8%) Average paid off p.m. £143.95 L/H supporter 115 DFD target February 2018 DFD March 2028. We have cashed in a childrens bond which saved us from going under, so feel a bit fraudulent when you look at the amount paid. I don't think next year will be as good. Even taking into account that a loan ends in June (roll on June) and snowballing that I think we will be lucky if we clear 15k.

It's not fraudulent, don't do yourself down! £12k is a good amount to have paid off whatever the circumstances, and so long as the total is going down you certainly will get there before you die!Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620

I agree with Seaxwyn - not fraudulent at all, but sensible. Don't fret over it, you are doing the right thing in my opinion.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0

I agree, not fraudulent at all! OH & I may look into cashing in our endowment. Our mortgage is part repayment/part interest only & we have been paying £68 into an endowment for the last 9 years, so there should be a good whack in there. Probably be better off putting the whole mortgage on Repayment, but think we'll hold fire for the time being until the economy picks up!Debt at LBM(July 1st 07)-£35,053.92 Debt on 1st Anniversary of LBM(July 1st 08)-£33,170.11 (31st January 09)-£32,318.73Paid off so far £2,735.19(7.8%) Average paid off p.m. £143.95 L/H supporter 115 DFD target February 2018 DFD March 2028. Well first of November and still no heating on but it is perishing. Had a lovely time round at the next door neighbours last night. Been to pick up the 2 little ones from their cub sleepover, I don't think much sleep was had so they will be vile for the rest of the day. Working tomorrow so that should pay for the horses next week.
Children are busy compiling their Christmas lists which seems to consist of the entire contents of the Argos catalogue (help). DD1 is going to make hobnobs later so that should keep her out of mischief.

Been up to the horses and rode mine. The old boy is nor a happy chappie at the moment I think his arthritis is playing him up. I am also thinking this might be his last winter...........see how the summer pans out. Definitely can't eat hay and even when he has his tooth out I don't think it will make that much difference.
This month I need to be more focused, I feel as if we are balancing on the edge again. OHs wages should go back up next week, however those lower paid weeks have shown how easy things could go pear shaped. I need to spend less time on here as I think its becoming a bit obsessive and I don't achieve anything with my time.
I have paid for DD1s ski trip and got landed with a letter for DS2 to also go on a school trip (£280), naturally he wants to go. Hopefully going to get a few hours working tomorrow, managed 4 on Sunday.

OOOOOOOOH FEEL THE NEED TO RANT!!!!!!!!
Incurred £44 of Barclays charges. I have arranged for the o/d to be paid back at £10 per week as OH is weekly paid. However the timings weren't quite right hence the charges. Have been into the branch today to try and get it sorted and also to see if there was any leeway with the charges. Snotty woman tried to sell me a loan, advising it would be cheaper in the long run. Didn't want to borrow debt to repay debt. She insisted it was an unusual way of paying it back and could I not save it up and do a couple of lump sum payments? (like I was going to be able to do that). Managed to get the date changed but have come home fuming.
Phoned the telephone banking, they were a lot more helpful but still unable to give me a refund. I advised them what the woman had said and the lady on the phone was aghast and wondered what the woman was being paid for. End of rant.
Today I have mopped the kitchen and bathroom floors, cleaned out the fire. I am going to make the curry sauce base before the ginger runs out the fridge. I am also going to try and keep the grocery budget under control. Last month looks like it came in on target but I know OH has bought stuff and it hasn't been put in the book.
I went into the co-op today and bought 2 reduced chickens which have gone into the freezer and a few other bits and bobs as I need to do a few packed lunches this week.
