That sounds like a really hard deciscion to make and I think the best bet is a word with the solicitor and see what position you'd be in either way.Good luck xx

Managed to get everywhere hoovered. 2 loads of washing out, dried and all ironing up to date. Paper logs made and more paper put in to soak. DS1 and friend dropped off to go shooting. DD1 collected from sleepover and eggs delivered. DS1 and friend picked up from shooting. Tea is cooking and I feel absolutely awful. Couldn't tell you exactly what is ailing me but just feel under the weather. Probably the stress catching up with me, OH doesn't feel too bright either.

DS1 has mowed the lawns, so the garden is looking slightly better. Hopefully going to get tea cooked and then slob in the bath and hopefully slink off to bed.

  • Sounds like the delayed effect of everything that you've gone through recently.

Sounds like the solicitor will be the best sound of advice for you ref your DS.

Ooh - face pack, that's a good idea!

Glad you're feeling a bit better Lucielle. I have to say that I think M2M makes a pretty good, if somewhat harsh, point. I was trying to work out in my own mind how the heck it had gone that far without someone thinking "hang on - this has to stop!" - fact is, they can't not have realised, I would have thought. One thing also - bear in mind your DS was also fortunate not to have ended up with serious injuries to his windpipe and neck - and potentialy, spine. I'm sure the "what if's" have already been playing themselves out in your mind over and over anyway, but I'm afraid the fact that two of the lads have admitted to doing the same thing before means that it had already gone from horseplay, to bullying, and they will very likely continue once their punishment is spent. Next time, the child who is the victim could end up in a wheelchair.

One thought - is the area of the playground where it happened covered by CCTV, and if so, can the school let you see the footage? Might be tough to watch, but could help you make a final decision as to what should be done.

No CCTV but good thinking. Yes all those thoughts have whizzed through our minds as well. Still going to talk to the solicitor though.

Hi lucielle - just popped into your diary to see how things were going. Shocked to hear about your DS. I personally would definitely involve the police and sue the school - as you could have bills for a long time to come to try and fix your DS's teeth. I would also sue for the lost wages.

You have to focus on what is right for you and the family. I was badly bullied at school for years - but I never got permanent injuries from it... He may also need counselling later - and someone -either the boys parents or the school should pay for that. Not wanting to scare you but he may be okay right now but in 6 months to a year he might suddenly need counselling....

Hugs to you and your family
