Ds1 has returned home safe and sound. Have to confess to sending him a text a dinnertime. I would've thought the school would've made the other boy apologise and as a parent if my son had done it he would've been frogmarched in. No not a murmur which has made me even madder! Taking DS1 to the docs shortly to see if his stitches can come out. Catch you all later.

Good luck at the doctors with your son. I dont blame you at texting your son at lunchtime. What did you decide about pressing charges? Take care.2025 Decluttering 13021⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Lucille have you checked about going through schools insurance?0 -
We are waiting to see what the solicitor says but it is one avenue we might be able to go down.

I've only just read this - no wonder you are "out of sorts"! A few months ago we had an issue with a boy bullying DS who took it further by deciding to force his way into our house. No one was injured, thankfully, but it was the moment we decided that regardless of whether it is a bit of playfighting gone wrong or whatever, my property is mine, and I have a right to feel safe there, and for it not to be damaged by anyone else......we did have a word with the police, and thankfully nothing has happened since.
Even just "a word in your ear, young man" from a copper might make them think differently even if you don't formally press charges.

Lucielle, I'm usually a "lurker" but had to log and say - my son went thru a very similar experience at school (DS choked until he passed out and banged his head as he fell). I pursued it via the Police thru to prosecution (with the school's tacit encouragement as the boys behaviour had been escalating).
Although there was a successful prosecution, the experience made my son stop concentrating so his GCSE's, which should have been excellent, were barely average.
Also, the day we went to court, DS and I had to walk past the boy and his family to get to a side room away from him. It was easy to see where he was influenced. What would I do with hindsight? Probably the same, but probably with a more assertive approach to the school after the prosecution.
I know that isn't conclusive advice, but at GCSE age I don't believe it was "horseplay" gone too far for my DS, nor yours. Even after more than a decade I'm getting worked up thinking about it!
Hugs xWhat would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?0 -
That was brave to share satchmo
I also don't believe it was just horseplay - not considering the damage to his teeth...
