Mortgage and CCJ
Am not sure if this is the correct place for this question - but here goes. I'm trying to help out a member of my family who is wanting to move house, but she has a CCJ. She's had a mortgage with the Nationwide for 7yrs, but 2 1/2 years ago she ended up with a CCJ which she has been paying each month with no missed…

I've been researching mortgages for weeks and only just realised this.
The principle amount you borrow remains the same through the length of the mortgage and doesn't increase with inflation... Rent will always increase with inflation. Yes I'm subject to interest rate fluctuations but since 1992 the interest rates have remained below 6% and assuming we don't have another covid situation on…

Good Evening! I’m looking for some clarification on our HTB loan. We’ve been renting our house for the last year with approval from HTB, as we had to relocate for work. Mortgage for renovations
Can I borrow more from the bank than is required to cover the list price of the property? For example, if I want to buy a house for £160,000 and I have £30,000 in a LISA. Can I borrow £145,000 instead of just £130,000, and use £15,000 to renovate? Or will the bank want to lend me as little as possible?

Remortgaging and selling house advice please

I don't think the house will sell by then or be completed if it did sell but won't know until I put it on the market. Im currently on a fixed rate for 2 years which is 6.59%. To change bank before mortgage app
I'm going to remortgage next year and am aware I shouldn't apply for credit in the run-up, but would a bank account switch be a bad idea now? I am not overdrawn with my current bank, it would purely be to benefit from cash back on bills paid by DD and a better savings account rate.

Interest Only Mortgages and age restrictions.
I was wondering if anyone can help with this at all and advise if this is a general rule? I've just gone through a new product selection at the end of a fixed rate, I've gone onto a tracker as that doesn't have any penalties as I'm going to be moving in the next 6 months anyway. As part of the discussion I asked about an…

Agreement in principle, surprised so low
I recently got an agreement in principle which was less than half of what the Rightmove calculator had indicated I might be able to borrow based on my income.
