Santander remortgage form

Hi, I just have a question about my Santander mortgage fixed term period ending and them offering new fixed term product deals. I may/may not still have my job at that point, but I will have the money to carry on paying my mortgage. I know they don’t do any affordability /credit checks, but are there any questions on the form about your circumstances changing? I don’t want to lie if I have lost my job, even though I can afford to carry on making the payments. Just trying to do some forward planning if I do lose my job and have to stay on variable rate.

What the banks care about ultimately is you paying the mortgage. If you can do that job, or no job (is this ad infinitum?) then I'd fix, since ultimately you're not reliant on employment for income.

I don't recall any questions about changing employment etc. when we did our last fix, but we're with HSBC rather than Santander.

If all you are doing is a new product (i.e. you're not seeking to extend the length of the mortgage or borrow more money) then there will be no checks / questions to be answered.

Thanks for your responses. It has made things clearer for me. It means I can plan my both my future finances and how much longer I have to work, especially as my health isn’t great.
