Mum's Planning a DRO - Will it affect me?
My mother's health has deteriorated over the past months, so much so that she has found it increasingly difficult to keep up with her CC bill. They have adviced her to apply for a DRO, which would really help but my question is, would this have any effect on my chances of buying the place or affect my credit in any way?…

Dubious IVA?
I've got a friend who had an IVA agreed in Summer 2016 - I've verified details through the insolvency register, as she's not sure on details/dates etc. She has very little assets (if any), and that was the same in 2016. Sadly it looks like she took little independent advise before entering the IVA. I'm very concerned she's…

DRO in Northern Ireland
Hi there Just wondering if anyone here knows the waiting time for a DRO in NI? The letter with the barcode on it said it takes at least 11 days for the payment to be received by the insolvency service so will it be a couple of weeks then? Seems very slow compared to those in England who are approved within a day or 2.…

Hi there, My wife and I are currently in a DRO (she was the client,im the partner) that is due to end on 30/03/18, with debts of around £19k. I have just been placed at risk of redundancy (still applying for internal roles, so not officially redundant just yet). I have received a provisional redundancy package which is…

Iva
Good evening all I'm currently in my 5th month of my IVA. I applied for IVA so my payments were all in 1 place and my outgoings were less for the month as I'm currently on maternity leave. So from paying nearly £300 out every month this has been reduced to £80 a month for 5 years. The council also stopped paying my rent…

Car on Hp, what happens when doing a DRO?
If somebody has a car on HP, what is the procedure when applying for a DRO? Do you have to give the car back first, then put the rest of the debt down, or should you keep the car during the application, and then give the car back after it has gone through and you hear back from them?

Extra income on IVA
Hi all, I am new to the forum and wasn’t sure where to post so sorry if this is in the wrong catergory. I took out an IVA around 6 months ago for approx 15,000 debt to 4 creditors. I pay back 110 a month. When I took out this IVA the terms were that if I earn more than 870 a month, half of this must be given to the…

IVA- will PPI Credit check throw up mobile device credit agreement?
Hi, Please could anyone tell me if having a mobile phone with £270 credit left on the contract to go breach my iva at the last leg? The problem I’ve got is I’m nearing end of IVA. PPI company is sniffing around to claim PPI back on behalf of the insolvency firm and I think these companies do credit checks. My mobile…

IVA and 85% Equity Worry
Hi, I am currently living with my partner and I personally have had a mortgage approved to purchase a house. We are using the equity from the sale of my partners property - however, she is in an IVA and she has real concerns about having her property unlocked for the sale. She owed £25,000 and has been paying £100 per…

Finishing IVA and Equity Release Request
I have just made my final payment against my IVA. However, in order to complete and clear from my records etc I have been asked to obtain equity release. I am a bit sceptical about this mainly as I don't know much about Equity Release and where to start. If there are any pointers any one can give me then I would be…

Renting with a DRO
Hi so me and my husband both had DRO in 2014. We have just applied to rent a new house and waiting for a response from our credit checks and references. I never thought about if the DRO will effect this. I've put it down on the forms when it was so they are aware of it and know it's still on my credit file. Anyone had any…

DRO - 6 years...
Hi all, In March 2018 it'll be 6 years since my DRO and I am expecting it to fall off my credit record. What will happen? Will my credit rating suddenly shoot up (currently 529/999) once it drops off, or will it remain that low and gradually build up?

Money received whilst DRO was still active - Any effect now DRO has completed?
Hi everyone, I had a question regarding a DRO that a family member had in effect last year. They received money from a probate whilst under the DRO and neglected to mention it to either the administrator of the probate or the DRO people themselves. The DRO has since lapsed and I was wondering if there was anything that…

Forum use
Is it a sign of positive change...... I've noticed now for over a year a gradual drop in usage of this forum since the days of my own IVA 2009-2015. Maybe there are other better forums or maybe IVA's are not as popular.... just a thought

IVA advice please
Evening, apologies I haven't searched the forum to see if my answer is contained within. I have debt and I've approached an organisation called the debt advisory service. After discussing options it seems that an IVA may be the way to go. I've been asked to provide certain documents including one of my partner's pay slips…
