DRO through stepchange waiting times
Hello there, Just trying to gauge how long the wait is from sending the DRO application to receiving the bar code. I've read on here it's roughly 6 weeks but wondered if anyone got there's sooner? I submitted my application via email over a week and a half ago but I'm really impatient. 😊

Insolvency & dro
Hi I was wondering if anyone could tell me what happens once the intermediary sends the completed debt relief document to the insolvency service? Is it just an automated system or do they run checks on your outstanding debts, salary with the inland revenue etc. Also from the point of the intermediary pressing the button…

Boyfriend went to CAB and was told he wouldn't get a DRO
Boyfriend was made redundant, when I come off maternity leave he's becoming a stay at home dad. He's currently got temporary work and is paying off what he can for his credit card debt. I offered to pay what I can out of my wages when he is no longer employed, because I work he's not entitled to any benefits while looking…

DRO discharged but still have defaults
A couple of months ago we were told by our landlord that she will be retiring soon and will be selling her properties. She has offered to sell it to us but we don't want it because it's going to cost a lot of money to put right and would rather find somewhere else. Anyway, we have had two mortgage advisors try and get us a…

IVA and renewal mortgage
I'm currently in a fixed term 5 year mortgate which will end in 2019. Cut a long story short, I may have to go via an IVA route as I've got over 20k+ of credit card debts. Question...will it be difficult for me when it comes to renewal? Can the lender reject me? Bare in mind that I've never missed a repayment for my…

Wanting to change to IVA but have joint debt with ex husband
As part of my divorce I agreed to take on the loan / credit card debt and to keep the equity in the house (it works out the same amount). This was to save me selling the house as I am a carer for my autistic adult son as we would have been homeless. The divorce etc was stressful enough so this seemed the best option at the…

DRO & Salary sacrafice vehicles
Hi everyone I am contemplating a DRO and have a question which the debt charities cannot seem to answer, I wonder if anyone has experience of my problem? I currently have a salary sacrifice vehicle through my employer and was wondering what the official receivers view would likely to be on this? Would they include the…

Barclaycard still chasing after DRO
Hi all, I am coming to you all again for a bit of advice if you'd be so kind. I was granted a DRO in April 2016 and was discharged in April 2017. All of the creditors have now marked the debts as satisfied or partially satisfied on my credit report and I have started to take steps to rebuild my credit rating. I'll cut a…

IVA/Home Insurance/Car Insurance
Hi all, I’ve been a lurker on the board for some time now and thought it was about time I contributed and ask some advice considering I’ve seen some amazing advice being given out on this forum to others! Thought I’d give you all a bit of history first so you know where we’re at! My husband and I entered an IVA in March…

DRO was made but still received Deductions from Earnings!
Hello, This is some kind of a horrible nightmare at the moment cause the main reason I made DRO was to exactly avoid situation like that from happening. I was approved DRO in June 2017 and from October 2017 my employer started to deduct money from my wages for council tax which was of course included in my DRO. Employer…

Parking Fine
Hello All, I'm in the process of sending my DRO application (going to scanned documents and send tonight). I've received a parking fine today so didn't know about. Can I include it in the DRO? I can't find a clear answer by Googling. Its from a company called Smart Parking not council?

Is IVA really an option?
So, I just used the debt remedy tool on step change. The main suggestion was IVA! I'm pretty happy with this as I want to take some responsibility towards my debts and have so many issues with bankruptcy and getting in trouble and my already fragile mental health can't cope with that.(application dishonesty, selling my…

DRO - Aqua are saying that I owe more money?!
I had a DRO put in place in September 2014 and the yearly period ended in September 2015. Over the last couple of years I have been sending letters to the creditors who were still incorrectly showing as "defaulted" on my credit report. I hadn't received any responses until I got the Financial Ombudsman involved and now…

New mobile phone contract with ongoing DRO
Hi, I have recently entered a DRO and I’m left with around £30 a month spare cash. My mobile phone has just broken, though. And I essentially use it as a laptop as it’s small enough to put in my pocket, yet powerful enough for all my work needs. I recall seeing a letter which states that I cannot obtain credit for over…
