Halifax default
A debt company have bought my Halifax credit card debt but Halifax have not removed their default from my credit file. Seeing as they are no longer the data controller can they keep the default on my credit file? As I now have two entries for the same debt on my file. Any help would be appreciated

CCA request - Moorcroft
Hi guys. I sent a letter by recorded delivery to Moorcroft, requesting a copy of the CCA and attaching a £1 PO. I have confirmation this was signed for by Moorcroft and they have now written to me. Their letter states they will not comply with the request as I did not send £1 for this. I am 100% certain it was enclosed, in…

Anyone know why they would have discontinued the action? Should I attempt to…

poor eligibility
Hi Everyone, We are about 8 months into our Debt free journey and making good progress. I decided to look for a 0% card as some of our deals are coming to an end. This would be to transfer existing debt as opposed to building up more debt. We have not added to our debt since the start of our journey and we intend to stick…

Moorcroft account passed back to original creditor???
Good Afternoon, An account I had with Lloyds defaulted and was passed to Moorcroft a few years ago. Until July last year, when my wife was made redundant, there was a small monthly payment to Moorcroft. I signed in to my Moorcroft account a couple of days ago to check the outstanding balance to find my account no longer…

What DFW things will you do this week 26/04/21?
When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym. But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when…

Keeping statute barred debt alive
Hi, I recall hearing a rumour sometime back that debt recovery companies have a way of alerting credit companies and credit reporting agencies that someone has a statute barred debt. They will conduct audits and credit checks in a specific pattern, like once every 30 days, then 45 days and keep repeating this. It sounds…

Coming out the other end questions ?
We got ourselves into a pickle 8 yrs ago and had circa 40k debts so went onto a DMP with stepchange, we have took the stance that we spent it so will pay it back and are now down to about 2k owed to banks and credit cards. It's been pretty straightforward and our credit scores are now perfect with no defaults showing and…

Lowell / Lucas Credit - Letter before action?
Hi all. I have received a letter from Lucas Credit on behalf of Lowell asking for £200 for a 3 year old credit card debt. They say: I'm worried I'll get a CCJ and have bailiffs. What do you think is the best course of action? I'm housebound for the next few months and on the lowest Universal Credit.

Partial settlement with Moorcroft
Hi, so I have a true copy of my CCA for a NatWest loan. The balance is £7600 which is my highest debt that I'd love to clear. I have managed to save some money so am thinking to offer a reduced settlement. Should I be super cheeky and offer 25%? At the moment they aren't getting anything, but it's usually just £50 per…
