PRA / Nationwide/ F + F / CCA and default type stuff
So i have been on my dmp for 18 months now. I have recently started sending cca letters to find out where i stand with various creditors, while i made an official complaint to nationwide who are yet to default me. I have also had a couple of discussions with regards to F and F. Looking at nationwide first, they are now…

Lowell Debt Collectors
Hi guys just a quick question, the majority of my debts are being chased by Lowell, some have now been passed on to Overdales (used to be known as Lucas Credit services) Do Lowell act on behalf of their clients or do they just buy the debts and then chase the customer for repayment?

Letter from Search Squad UK
Hello. Not sure this is the right place to post. I had a letter from the above saying they were trying to trace someone and they needed my help. The letter was addressed to my married surname which I stopped using over 10 years ago. This makes me suspect this is about a very old debt going back 15 years. Anyone else had…

Living with Debt Without Realising it
I have been a member of these forum for over nine years now and normally just read the threads to relax before going to sleep. I have followed many Diaries and peoples experiences, highs and lows. In recent years (as I am getting older, mid forties) I have realised that I have been living with constant debt since I first…

I have a very old Barclays Student Current Account with an overdraft of £1000. It was taken out in Aug/Sept 2007 and was used until July/August 2013. No payments were made into the account after…

Paying off my loans - what next
So the time has nearly come to pay off all but two of my loans. But what next? So my first new wage is £3.3K (this is a month and a half wage) of which £1.6K is going to pay off four loans loans. This will save £800 in interest and reduce my monthly outgoings by £600. The rest of this wage is going into my savings. A few…

What DFW things will you do this week 12/04/21?
When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym. But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when…

I spend £275.30 on alcohol alone on this months credit card statement.
From 10th March till now. I solely used credit card for purchases and only use two corner shops local to me for alcohol transactions. I added everything up and spent £275.30 on alcohol in a month and I'm nearly drinking everyday. I really need to do something about this. I get cravings for alcohol when I'm bored, mainly at…

Default notices
Good morning all So I’m currently in the process of waiting for my accounts to default before proceeding to a self-managed DMP arrangement. I’ve had two default notice letters today from Aqua and Amex. Do I just ignore these and continue waiting it out, or does this mean that these two have actually been defaulted now?

Default is almost 6 years old
I'm not sure if I've made a mistake! I am trying to sort out my debts and when logging on to Experian I saw there was a debt from NatWest credit card for £1400 that will be defaulted for 5 years in August. They haven't tried to recover the debt and I haven't heard from debt collectors or anything. I even forgot I had it as…

British Gas Default dropped off, Lowell arrived
Hello, Hope you can give me some advice! I had British Gas - Gas and Electricity accounts in 2010 with other flatmates. We moved out of the house in early 2011 and our tenancy ended. In 2015, I got an email from a collection agency to pay around £1600 for the electricity account. I ignored the emails as I was outside UK at…

Interest added to backdated default
Good morning. Long story short, I stopped making payments in Dec 19 so that my accounts would default. They all did within 6 months, except for one, which happened to be my largest debt. After some back and forth with them trying to get them to default the account, they finally agreed to apply the default and back date it…
