Inheritance Tax Gift Allowance Clarity
I would really appreciate some help with this Is it possible to gift £9000 in one year and stay within the annual exemption rules. As an example, could I gift £6000 in March 24/25, which would include the £3000 carried over from 23/24, then a further £3000 in the 25/26 tax year Is this acceptable?

He kept his former home and another property which he rents out (his pension pot) And now we’re looking at wills. However, there are some complications with what we want to put in the will with IHT implications so should…

Solicitor oversight - Didn't pay out gifts to charities in mother's will, now being chased
My mother died a few years ago and so naturally my sister and I arranged for a solicitor to sort out everything to do with her will/probate, which included gifts to a few charities. Said solicitor never made any further mention about these, so when they paid out the remainder of our mother's estate to us about a year later…

He had lived in England for over 50 years, so had a UK state pension and a very small private pension, and a single UK bank acount with a small balance. His estate is made of…

Anyone here acted as an executor of a will?
If so, how was the process? How much work was it? What was the level of 'fear' in ensuring it was done correctly?! What 'guide' did you use to ensure it was done correctly? Did anything go 'wrong' and need extra work to sort?! Or did you say, sodit and engage a solicitor?! Thanks.

Private Pension Provision for grown up children
I am an executor of the will of someone who has private pensions. She has two 20 year old children. They are mentioned in the will and 90% is left to them and the other 10% goes to her godson who is not a blood relative. I've read that it goes to the children but will 10% still be able to go to the godson?
