Ive seen Tunnels Beach which looks beautiful and just the kind of setting im looking for but maybe a bit expensive at £5,000 just for the venue. Is there anything similar thats cheaper? Or is this going to be the kind of price I will have to pay…

Doing your own make-up?
Is anyone doing their own make-up on the day? I thought it would be nice for someone to do it for me on the day, but after looking at prices today (over £200 for me and 2 BM's:eek:), i am seriously contemplating doing it myself. Danielle

Crispy veil - how can I make it softer?
I have just bought a 19 inch shoulder length veil which looks just the right length to go with both my dress and hair style. The only problem is, because it is new and made of tulle, it is quite 'crispy' and doesn't seem to fall nicely over my shoulders. Instead its sort of more 'sticky-outy' (!) What's the best way of…

Candles
I was browsing in Carge today while waiting for my watch to be mended when I noticed they had their candles for sale. Now wanting a lot of church candles for out wedding I had a look and got a bit of a bargain (well i think). I purchased 12 Ivory Chruch Candles 150 hours burn (Approx. 8" high) and 4 purple ones for £34!:j…

Accidental bargains!
Just had to say that I'm feeling pretty happy right now. I'm the sort of person who dithers over things, and by the time I make my mind up I end up losing out and miss bargains etc. Or I book something and then find the bargain I'd wanted appears a day too late. But for this wedding I seem to have had the opposite luck. I…

1940s theme party, ideas for favours?
We're getting married on Monday (eek!) at a registry office, just the two of us, then haring off to Scotland for a few weeks. We didn't keep it as secret as we'd have liked... so we're throwing a big party when we return, to celebrate. It's not exactly a wedding reception (we didn't mention "wedding" when we booked…

Thank You Note to guests who didn't bring gifts
Hi, I got married last week end and am sitting down to write a list of who bought what and to write my thank you notes. There are (suprisingly!) about 5 couples who didn't bring anything, not even a card. I respect that a gift is not a right but to be honest I wouldn't dream of going to a wedding with nothing at all in…

Spot stain removal for ivory satin wedding dress
I am hoping you lovely ladies (and gents!) can help. I bought a beautiful wedding dress (for £62!!!) but it has a couple of minor stains. One looks a little like make up. I researched wedding dress cleaning and it would cost more than I paid for the dress if I go that route  so if I can avoid that I will try. Is there…

Oh so cheesy, but oh so funny
Hey all, I saw the attached and thought that, after a little bit of a ruckus that we have had over the last couple of days on one of the threads (I fed the troll too - my apologies), that a giggle was in order. Seriously, how hilarious would it be if your new husband did this? :rotfl: x
