Hello venue twin :) When's your wedding? My friend's daughter gets married there in 3 weeks so we're sharing lots of planning stories. Sadly we're only having the daytime there so won't get the safari etc, and our cake will be at the evening venue, not the zoo. But it'd be nice to take a zoo theme back for the evening :)

Hi ellay! We are getting married on 24th June 2012. Only booked it last week and I am so disorganised it's untrue! It must be nice knowing someone who is getting married there too so you know how things work out on the day. :D It would be brilliant to have something of your daytime at the evening reception too. I see you are getting married in October, how exciting! Are you all ready now or still stuff to do? :D I did a quick search for the cake and it's by The Big Wedding Cake Company in Golborne, Warrington. It says it was specially designed for a wedding at Chester Zoo. :j

Here's the website to the cake - http://bigweddingcakecompany.co.uk/gallery.php?picid=352

I just came across it by accident, tho there doesn't appear to be a price list...

The cake I want is this one...

OMG spoonymoose...that cake is just WOWWWW. We went to Brighton for a few days last year and found Choccywoccydoodah - before it had got famous on TV. The place is amazing.
I've been trying to dig out a site I found last year that had lots of really quirky wonky tiered cakes - not just for weddings but they covered every theme possible. Can't find it for the life of me which is probably just a good thing as I'm sure the price tags would make me cry!

The OH and I really want an amazing yet very unusual/different cake.

I saw some of the wonky cakes and thought they were fab :D I saw the cake above in a wedding mag (a foolish place to look for MS things!) and showed it to the OH, unfortunately it's the only cake he actually showed some enthusiasm for, that was until I told him the price... :rotfl:

I think you should start a thread asking for anyone who has any sort of artistic flair, and we'll all have a go at icing an animal cupcake for you - a very MSE cake, tho I can't promise mine would look like any sort of animal! :rotfl:
