Hi, Ever since Yorkshire Water fitted a new Automatic Meter our bills have increased by about 30%. Our usage has not changed , and there are no leaks. I suspect the new meter may be at fault, YW say "our meters are never wrong" !!!! Our only hope is to have it sent away for checking at a cost to us of over £80. Has anyone…

Recommendations for a water utility solicitor?
Hi Anyone here who has benefitted from and actually used a water utility solicitor? Seems that the closest water main is 150m away via tarmac and I was quoted 20k+ to install which obviously is a crazy expense. Would like to hear about solicitors who found a way out of the situation. Thanks

Anglian water customer relations - update
ANGLIAN WATER CUSTOMER RELATIONS - UPDATE I attach copies of my posts made in July 2012 and July 2013. At last there is the possibility of customers being able to switch suppliers. Although full competition is unlikely before 2020 I suspect that the 'highhandedness' shown by Anglian Water may well change their attitude…

Moved house, water bill now doubled
I used to pay £30/month for water and sewage when I lived in Cheltenham. Now I am paying £67/month for the same to Anglian Water who supply my new home. The houses are both around the same size, 3 bedroom with 2 adults and 2 children occupants. Water consumption is exactly the same. This seems far too high. According to a…

Rateable value -
I have just received my water bill from United Utilities for the period April 2016 to March 2017. I am on water rates, and wondered how what I am paying per month compares to other people on water rates. The total for the year is £271.76, and the bill mentions my rateable value of £83.00 per year.# Are these figures low or…

Water supply from a local private company...
Hi. We are in the process of buying a house but the water supply is a little odd. The clean water is supplied by a local company (we believe via a borehole on land nearby) and it supplies all the properties in the village as our regional supplier severn Trent don't yet have a main anywhere near by. Severn Trent do however…

Sewer pipe and piles
Hello. Hope this is the right place to post and somebody can help me? We have recently had a double storey extension completed on our house. This consisted of knocking down the conservatory and building a new room with a bedroom above. To support the building piles were used. The next door neighbour has been complaining of…
