Broadband help
We are about to move and one house on the possible list is in a small village. Samknows says a maximum speed of 1.5mbps and it is not on the obvious list for upgrade anytime soon. So are there ways in which an improvement can be effected(the area does not have cable) even if one has to throw some money at it. It's a nice…

Can someone have a look and tell me what it is, and if it came from there? It was flagged by microsft security essentials as an exploit virus, which…

Backup Software: Alternatives to WD Smartware?
I've recently fitted a couple of external drives to their 2 PC's for some friends after nagging them for ages to keep a proper backup of their data. Because I knew that a manual backup method simply wouldn't ever get done, I went for Westerm Digital drives fitted with 'SmartWare' on the basis that it runs continuous…

I was visiting an elderly friend yesterday. She has Freesat from Sky. The TV was on in the background & while we were talking the Sky menu page opened/popped-up. She put it back to the TV programme, presumably with the backup button. Five minutes later the same thing happened, and then for a third time before she'd even…

Looking for a Macbook case to go travelling
Hi there! I have a Macbook Air 11-inch and i'm looking for a really good, sturdy, tough, water-resistent, non-stitch laptop sleeve/case that can protect my tech from those odd liquid spills, minor falls from a table (perhaps) and one that is quite slim and easy to carry and slip-on. I'm also looking for a skin (made of…
