You may need a bit of software/driver to get it to work.
Do Windows-R (Run) then type DEVMGMT.MSC and enter.
This shows you all the devices on your PC. Look under imaging devices or anything that looks camera related (eg cameras) by clicking the little triangle next to the relevant line. Do you see something that looks like a webcam in there? eg HP webcam?
If so does it have a yellow triangle or other symbol by it - it may be disabled or the driver missing. You can right click/Enable device, or perhaps Update Driver Software.0 -
On my Acer it's hiddedn under programs/Acer/ Acer crystal eye webcam.
Have a look under control panel/programs and features and look down the list of installed programs to see if there is anything that looks like a program to do with a webcam because it should be installed as a default, otherwise, visit the HP website & look for a webcam driver for your model number0 -
What are you wanting to do with the webcam, just take some shots or get it working with an application like Skype?
If you're just wanting to take pictures with it, Windows will normally see it as an imaging device which is available when you open 'My Computer' or as mentioned above, you should be able to find a specific utility for the webcam in the start menu.
