There seems to have been a few "is anyone at X university?" threads lately. Looking for an unusual course
I am looking to study a fairly unusual course (not higher education). I know it isn't taught anywhere locally as i did a course in the same subject last year and had to travel 60 miles round trip once a week to do that. I want to take it to the next level and i am expecting to travel further to do the course - up to 2…

Student Loan
I was speaking to a friend of mine at the weekend who is a banking advisor and he said that repaying my student loan ahead of time wasn't a good idea. His argument was, say I repay the £10,000 or so which is accruing interest at 2.33%, and then what if I need £10,000 further down the line - and the only loans are at 5-7%?…

Barclays look like they're re-launching their Student Barclaycard on 5th September, and if you pre-register your interest you'll be entered into a draw to win an iPod Nano... Worth the chance to win, even if you don't go for the card in the end? lol  Here's the link: http://www.barclaycard.co.uk/students/products.html

OMG Just Reg'd With OU!
I'm torn between being really excited and apprehensive as I've just signed up for my first OU course! I've been aware for a few years now that if I was going to get any further with my employer I would need formal qualifications but up til now I've not been able to afford it. It's been some 15 years since I last sat…
