New Forum Top Launched Today
Hi folks As the first stage of trying to improve the look of the forum we've just launched the new forum top. If you look at the top of the screen you'll see a new image with links to help, etiquette, rules and user tool (there have been no other changes yet, we're working on them one stage at a time) It may look bigger…

Time to rename this board
Only a fool would deny that the economy is not in recession any longer, as we make the move back on track to a stronger economy. Indeed, yesterday's official figures (not a "VI" in sight), have had to upgrade the strength of the nascent recovery: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/8594757.stm Why should the word…

Phantom users
Suggestions to the mods - there have been a number of users such as Nutrisse that have been posting nothing more than abuse received posts for months now, disprupting normal debate, and others such as rewired, who have never posted and just thank "bear" posts of any type. I would suggest that any such nuisance posters…

Virtual Easter Egg Hunt: Magnum of Champagne prize
And the winner is... Congrats to sharonxxsteve who found six eggs and the sneaky bunny. No one found the egg in the forum but that may be because someone in MSE Towers forgot to take the one out of Cashback Credit Cards (which wasn't originally part of the comp). :o Here are where they were hidden... Renewable Energy in Utilities
Hello You may have already planned to do this, if so I apologise - feel free to delete this post. In a couple of days the UK gets a Feed-In-Tariff (FIT) for renewable energy. Basically people who generate their own electric will get paid for it. There is no mention of this on any of the switching sites, or on the MSE…

Anyone know why latest post is not being registered?
I've added a post to a thread I created in the Debt free wannabe forum. However, in the listing, the date last posted is the user who entered the penultimate post at the start of March. I added the most recent post on the 27th and yesterday and it appears in the actual thread. Just wandered if I'd done anything wrong. Any…

PMs getting shorter and shorter and..??
Hi. I've been regularly sending out PMs to new members of the quitting smoking thread (DFW diaries) for 2 years, but since the alterations to the site the amount of characters per PM gets less every time I send one. I sent another shortened one out in the week, but had to - once again - shorten it by 64 characters. It was…

A Complaint
Dear MSE web designer, when I move my mouse to the top of the screen to find another excellent topic in the "Debate House Pices and other stuff board" I am now constantly finding a box of inconsequential twaddle appear, telling me about stuff I didn't know existed and don't need to know. It means I need to be more accurate…

MSE iPhone Application
Hi all, I have just fired off a very enthusiastic email to the MSE team to request if there are any plans to create a MSE iPhone App. I think that this would be an invaluable resource with links to all the tools, information, vouchers, freebies and everything else that makes this site so amazing. Does anyone else out there…

Tool/Option to hide threads
There will always be some contentious threads on the forum, but sometimes I don't really want to read them. Currently there a few threads about Ian Huntley and I am not interested in reading them. Is there a tool that I could us that would hide selected threads? Maybe an option in the Thread Tools that says "Hide thread".…

Icon to easily identify OP in long threads.
Could there be some type of icon that identifies the original poster in threads? Sometimes when you're reading long threads with lots of posts you can forget who the OP was and therefore not know if they're responding. Maybe their username could be a different colour or size. Thanks

Forum slow just after Midnight
Has anyone else experienced the forum running really slow just after midnight (for about 10 - 15 minutes) ?. It takes a while to make a post and even longer for new posts to show up on threads. It is only something I have experienced in the past fortnight but it has happened every night since, without fail.

MegaShopBot Rendering Bug In Firefox (Ubuntu)
Hi, There seems to be a problem in the way MegaShopBot renders search results. The following is a screenshot of how it looks in Firefox 3.5.8 on Ubuntu 9.10. The green bar showing results from the different comparison sites is off to the right and incorrectly formatted. It consistently does the same every time. Regards…

Cartel Client Review: Why were threads deleted.
Elsewhere on the site I have been asked about why Cartel threads were once deleted, in the light of the company now being suspended by the MOJ (see full story at http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/new...get-them-back?) As I know some people feel this was the wrong move let me set out why... * We warn against fee-paying…
