Dear MSE web designer,
when I move my mouse to the top of the screen to find another excellent topic in the "Debate House Pices and other stuff board" I am now constantly finding a box of inconsequential twaddle appear, telling me about stuff I didn't know existed and don't need to know. It means I need to be more accurate with my mouse control, and as I am a bit 'relaxed' tonight I am finding it hard.
Please can you put it back how it was, and take a pay cut.
Ta.

I was thinking the same thing, but didn't say anything because I figured I would just be told to be more accurate with my mouse control!Gone ... or have I?0

They spent a lot of time on the new banner I doubt they will remove it!!0

The banner only expands when you roll over the masthead - my advice is steer clear of that one.
We actually tested the banner here with forumites and there was almost universal approval.
We are constantly told people can't find things and navigation isn't good enough - this is very much improving things for many people
So I'm afraid you'll have to be more accurate with your mouse or turn your javascript off to avoid it.
(find it strange myself, i've never rolled over it once by mistake?)
Hope you continue your relaxed evening thoughMartin Lewis, Money Saving Expert.

STOP this madness now!!
If you move through them quickly they don't appear, once you're in them just move below them or above them and they disappear.
We won't be removing them - but we will look at trying to improve things if it is an issue for some.Martin Lewis, Money Saving Expert.

If this part Home » Forums > MoneySaving & The Site > Site Feedback: Questions & suggestions .. could actually return to where it used to be previously, somewhere below the resource bar I think if I remember right, might help I think. I've never had an issue but then like you said I move around quickly and unless I actually pause it doesnt drop-down for me. Alternatively it could flip-up?0

As far as I remember the breadcrumb trail has always been there?Martin Lewis, Money Saving Expert.

Well I have to say that I've not noticed that before, but now it's been pointed out will find that most helpful, so thanksNow thanks to Tommix & Queen Bear, now Lady Westy of Woodpecker0 -
Martins site is a business. He wants to make it nice and flashy
I like the new menu (The new site is long overdue) but I must admit it gets in the way. I design sites, and I would suggest putting the forum down a bit, maybe that will help a bit

Heck, no!
The forum should go all the way UP, with just a single button for homepage above that.
Forums are for reading and writing (i.e. exchange of information).
The main website can have all its categories, sections, articles, blogs, news, drop-downs, pics, etc ad infinitum. As flashy as you want. But keep all this out of the forum pages.
If you're in the forums and want something from the website, click on home and off you go.
Or have two tabs open on your browser - one for the forums and one for the main site.
(Well, that's my 2 penn'orth anyway.)0
