Hi folks
As the first stage of trying to improve the look of the forum we've just launched the new forum top.
If you look at the top of the screen you'll see a new image with links to help, etiquette, rules and user tool (there have been no other changes yet, we're working on them one stage at a time)
It may look bigger but isn't
It's the same height (or less) than the old ones but has more info in and (we think) looks neater.
As before there are different versions depending on whether you're logged in or not.
Does every link work
We know there are a few cross-browser issues (like text extending the boxes) etc and we wanted you help to tell us what's working and what's not
If you do please can you let us know what operating system you're using plus how wide your screen is (as the forum is stretchy those on very wide screens may see quite a lot of grey space)
We will be tweaking over the next day or so to improve it

Thanks for the feedback folks. Are either of you using any kind of 'pop up blocker' or 'advert blockers' - if you are can you let me know what their names are

None.
On my default Firefox install on Linux, I disabled them all before testing. For completeness I also tried with a fresh FF profile so that no such addons were installed let alone disabled.
Opera had nothing to block anything.

Dan i'm using the popup blocker that came with my lappy, dunno which one it is - just bog standard Bill Gates issue I expect.I'm not getting any message in the top bar advising popups blocked, like I usually do when they are. HTH.....................I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)0

It doesn't look quite right. Should the forum rules and user tools buttons be on the green bar rather than below them? (It might be a glitch with the ancient version of IE I have to use on this machine - 6.0
