REVOLUT ACCOUNT FROZEN!
I have had my Revolut account frozen, with over €10,000 in it. This seems to be a common problem, with a page referring to its controversy on Wikipedia. But does anyone know how to resolve this? I need my money, I want my money. I understand that they have to do their checks, but no phone number? No online chat? No email…

Not financially savvy and overwhelmed by choice!
Having spent the last 24 hours reading every article on savings accounts I could find, I’m utterly perplexed and overwhelmed by choice - I wondered if anyone might be able to make a recommendation or point me in the right direction for the kind of savings account that might suit my partner and I. We are trying to put some…

Thoughts on fixing savings now?
Hi all :) Now I know no one here has a crystal ball regarding interest rates. But I've seen the Al Rayan Fixed Term Deposit accounts increase their rates pretty rapidly over the last month or two. I think a 3 year fix was hovering around 0.9-1% and now it's at 1.31% (AER). I'm saving for a house in 4 years time, but have…

How likely will Capital Gains Tax double in the new budget? Will it kill investing?
I have bee reading articles about the OTS report that recommended aligning income tax and CGT. Surely this would make investing outside of ISA / SIPP extremely unattractive. What are your thoughts?

Multiple portfolios in different wrappers
Between myself and OH we have no less than 10 "portfolios" for instance we each have 2x S&S Isas (on two different platforms) + 2 x SIPPs + unwrapped investments too. My largest portfolio (high 6 figures) has ended up with 20 "funds" (including etfs &ITs etc.) which I am aware is on the high side - I'm intending to trim it…

Are companies' no longer obliged to notify LSE of certain types of news?
I like to access London Stock Exchanges website and read company news from time to time. Today I read in Investors Chronicle that: "Companies' are no longer obliged to notify LSE of results and trading updates". I have spent time Googling this today and I cannot find a reference so I thought I would ask on here. If LSE no…

What to do with £100k invested over 5 to 10 years
I'm about to exit the property/BTL market and will have the delightful problem of working out where to put £100k for at least 5 years, probably longer. Partner and I already have means to max out our ISAs and pension contributions until at least 2024/25 so I'm considering the following options: * A global tracker in a…

My immediate concern is that I pay my mortgage off at the end of the month…

Halifax Share Dealing - Alternate Platform
I own only 3 different shares on this platform and trade approximately 2-4 times per year. Also none of these shares are held in ISAs. The new pricing structure at HSD is going to hit me hard, especially the annual fee. Can anyone suggest an alternate platform where I can transfer my stocks to automatically, at minimal…

Advice regarding Tesco Share Consolidation Tax options?
Posting for a friend who's waiting for their account to be approved. I've seen all the posts querying why and what it all means. Frankly I understand the reasoning and I think the fact that they openly admitted on a call that they missed the boat with helping colleagues understand this and flagging the potential impact of…
