Rules on available markets within an ISA.

Ive had my iWeb ISA for a few years now, entirely for individual companies.
But iWeb is limited in which markets i have access to. I get the CAC30 and about 100 German listed companies, but its rather limited in mid and small caps.
Is there a list on whats possible within an ISA and which ISA providers offer the widest market access? I read somewhere Chinese markets arent allowed, so whats the criteria?
Sorry if my question isnt particularly clear.. Ive started on the cider...
Edit: Im aware i get quite a wide range of American companies through iWeb, but just cant find any value there atm. Id like to be able to buy European small caps, and would also appreciate access to Japan if possible (and would love to be able to look at Indian companies)
I could open a standard Interactive Brokers account for a massive range of market access but would rather do without capital gains tax implications if at all possible.

Switch to a stockbroker offering a full service. Rather than one focusing on the UK retail consumer market. Be prepared for increased trading costs though. IG , as an example , charge £50 for a telephone trade for an international share.1

Whilst a particular security may be eligible to be held within an ISA, it could just be that iWeb don’t offer it because there simply isn’t enough demand from their clients for that particular security.
For foreign markets I would suggest gaining exposure via investment trusts or ETFs."If you aren’t willing to own a stock for ten years, don’t even think about owning it for ten minutes” Warren Buffett

Any others? I see T212 offer good market access but it just feels a bit Wall Street Bets to open a T212 isa.
If i open a new ISA before April but dont pay anything in, thats allowed, right?

Go to the London Stock Exchange website there's a full list of stockbrokers on there. I suggested IG as they have international offices not just based in the UK.benbay001 said:

Update, i contacted IG who arent taking new customers at the moment.
Id like to get something in place before the new tax year so are there any other suggestions of ISA providers with wide ranging market access?
Obviously i will keep an eye on IG incase they change.
Thanks

Does anyone have experience of Aj Bell?0

Lots of people including me. Competent outfit, good customer support, reasonable website, costs moderately low for a % based platform. The only downside if I remember correctly is that they dont prefund switching funds - you have to wait for the cash to arrive from a sale before you can make a buy.benbay001 said:Does anyone have experience of Aj Bell?1 -
