Shall we stay or shall we go now
My husband and I are in a very fortunate position as we met later in life and have no major money worries. We have saved hard since we meet and are lucky to have 3 houses 2 in the UK 1 we live in and the other we rent out. We have holiday home in Southern Italy which is paid for. All of our children are grown up and left…

Santander 123 eligibility
Hi - I was considering switching to the S123 account, but I'm not sure if I would be accepted. I recently graduated, and at the moment I'm seeking employment (ie. currently unemployed). Would this mean that I'd instantly get rejected? I'll probably have started working in the latter half of 2015, and would like to have the…

switching bank account bribes?
Can anyone tell me what the reasoning behind the banks asking for a minimum pay in amount for the switching bribes they're offering is? Is it simply that it's not worth it for them if the pay in amount is to low? Also does anyone know if there are any clauses with any of the banks which state you have to stay with the bank…

How to save a large sum of money for retirement.
I live on the Isle of Man. My UK house has just sold and I am wondering what is the best thing to do with the money to get me through retirement, which will start in 2-3 years time. I believe an annuity is not an option if you have not been paying into a pension pot. Is this correct? I do not want to buy another house, but…

Hi all Touch wood, in a few weeks I'll have c.£150k proceeds from primary home sale. I'm not buying anywhere else immediately but I'd like to retain instant access on that money in case anywhere suitable comes up. So who knows how long I'll be parking it somewhere, it could be 3 months or 3 years. Between jobs at the…

New to investing, just a couple of questions
Hi all, I'm trying to get started with my first investments but there are a couple things I would like to clear up first to be sure everything runs smoothly. Cash in high-interest bank account moved to ISA
Hi all, It's the first time I post in this forum so please pardon me if this question has been asked before. I did try to look for previous posts through the search option but didn't find anything. My question related to 3 paragraphs in the Top Cash ISAs 2014/2015 page Section 6. They state: "You also need to look at the…

BoS Vantage
In one of my recent threads I was told it'd be better of getting Bank Of Scotland vantage rather than ISAs, I'm surprised why the Vantage details aren't posted on MSE or here that often suggested considering it has decent rates and that you can have 3 Vantage accounts. Are their any downsides? In relation to:…

Advice about Index-linked Savings Certificates please.
From reading this..... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-30095123 It appears inflation may be very low for some time. I took out my index linked certificates in May 2011. I'm wondering if it's possibly time to withdraw them and re-investing elsewhere? Thank you.

Gold anyone?
I chose FS global resources at the start of the month over the Investec Global gold fund. While the FS fund has grown by 5%, the more 'gold heavy' Investec fund has jumped 10%. The beginning of a revival maybe?
