BoS Vantage

In one of my recent threads I was told it'd be better of getting Bank Of Scotland vantage rather than ISAs, I'm surprised why the Vantage details aren't posted on MSE or here that often suggested considering it has decent rates and that you can have 3 Vantage accounts.
Are their any downsides?

Nobody on this forum knows why the BOS Vantage doesn't figure in the official MSE material. It certainly has figured on the forum for the last couple of years.0

There are only two branches of BoS in England and they are both within sniffing distance of the border. You can pay in at branches of Halifax and use their in branch PCs for accessing on line banking but if you want anything out of the ordinary done while miles away from a BoS branch it would need to be done over the phone.
There is also a theoretical risk Scotland could one day vote for independence or develop its own tax policies within the UK in which case your account would be based in a (quasi) foreign country.
For that reason I asked for my account to be based at the Wooler branch but I am probably being paranoid in doing that.
I opened a BoS vantage rather than Lloyds when they were identical because I can access my Halifax account using the same log in details.

I'll save Winston Churchill, Jane Austen, J. M. W. Turner and Alan Turing.0 -

Thanks for that, I won't need physical access as if the rates ever do drop I would just transfer funds out online and close the account. I'm sure if Scotland does gain independence it wouldn't be all done and dusted in a day or a month even and so would be enough time to move out.
Just strange MSE never announces these plans0 -
