My child has come into £6,600 through a court winning due to dog bite. It has been summons that I find an account that only he has access to and only at the age of 18. He is going to be 12 in February. Is there such an account?

£4,000 into a JISA this year, and the rest into the same JISA on April 6 next year.

Junior ISA? Halifax pays 6% currently but dropping to 4%. Annual limit for those is £4K though I believe.

  • I have 3 god sons and want to set up savings accounts for them. I'd like them or their parents to be able to make occasional withdrawals eg towards holidays. Would a Junior ISA be suitable? Thanks

No because you can't make occasional withdrawals for e.g. holidays, presents, school books. You have to commit the cash until they're old enough to access it.

Ask the parents to open an account for each child to which only you contribute.
