Too Scared To Invest
Are people afraid of the risks of investing because of the present-day financial climate? Many people are losing out because of their reluctance to invest money. Are there too many scam investment schemes out there that put people off? Is there not enough advice given when it comes to investing money?

Lloyds TSB shares selling
I have about £70 of Lloyds TSB shares (ex Halifax). My dad has also left me the same amount. I want to sell these but don't know how to go about this. I fear that it will cost me a large part of their value but I also want to tie up these loose ends. Any advice please much appreciated.

M&G Optimal Income - too good to be true?
I have recently been hearing stories about bonds being overvalued etc and M&G themselves have advised investors to stop investing in bonds. My question is just how risky is this fund? I know it has a Trustnet Risk Rating of 25 (compared to 100 for the FTSE 100) During the recent economic crisis it only fell 4% in 2007/8…

Not just a straight comparison on interest rates
Whilst M & S have recently topped the interest rate rankings with thier Cash ISA, beware! The rate changes in March 03 and there are serious delays getting the returns started. These two issues mean the APR can be considerably lower than advertised

Savings kerfuffle with Fixed ISA - what shall I do with my savings now?
Hello I'm new to the saving process and I think I've got myself in a bit of a mess. I opened a Santander 4% fixed rate ISA in August of this year and made transfers from August to October. It then wouldn't allow me to make any further transfers, so I phoned Santander and they explained I wasn't allowed to make any further…

Bad news for savers
We already have had the BOE target changed from RPI to CPI, thus reducing the target conveniently. Now we seem to be softening up for the next step. BBC News "Mark Carney, the Canadian central bank head who is due to take over from Sir Mervyn as governor from June, has hinted at the possibility of scrapping inflation…

Interest rates so low - don't bother saving!
I really don't understand the mindset of people who say this, just read some comments in an article in the daily mail. The article was saying that average monthly savings have risen to approx £90 per month. One of the commentators said it was not worth saving as rates were so low. I offset so I save interest rather than…
