Put away deposit on a house
Hi, I wonder if you could please help me chose a good saving account for a sum of around £30,000. This was half of the deposit we were about to hand out ahead of exchanging contract on a house when the seller unexpectedly pulled out. I am not too sure whether to go for an instant or else. We continue looking for another…

Hargreaves Lansdown - Credit Card topup?
HL allows you to topup your ISA etc using a debit card. Has anyone found anyway to use a Credit Card to do the top-up? This would get me avois / rewards etc. Before Paypal scrapped it's Prepaid card, you could top that up from a credit card and then use it as the HL debit card. However, now that's gone, I'm stuggling to…

Withdrawal from Europe - Market Fears?
Given the current rise in public opinion in favour of the UK withdrawing from the EEC, and the possibility of a referendum on our membership, should investors with holdings in the UK market be worried? The UK is the largest market in my portfolio and I'm considering reducing this.

How can you identify your HL S&S ISA portfolio for declaring on court forms?
My brother needs to declare his accounts & also his investments. Bank accounts are simple - bank/building society name, sort code, account number & away you go. What about identifying his HL S&S ISA portfolio? Could it only possibly be the client ID number? Or is there another way to identify?

I don't particularly need the money now but can't see any more…

How long it took you to get a decent amount saved/at what age? Paid down a chunk of my debts today by taking £2,000 out of salary and £3,000 out of my emergency…
