A couple of interesting docs from Vanguard
I found these two interesting. First is this one, which clearly belongs in the "well, they would say that" stable were it can enjoy rubbing shoulders with Bernstein, Hale, etc. https://www.vanguard.co.uk/documents/literature/pdfs_for_literature/EDguide_Core_Satellite_FINAL_190510.pdf Figure three and the analysis beneath…

Have you considered Preference Shares?
Preference shares don't seem to get mentioned much but as I've just bought a bunch I thought I would pass on my findings. Firstly, what are they? You trade them like ordinary shares, but they have the following differences: 1) They pay a fixed rate of income. Either to a fixed redemption date when the capital is given back…

What's the logic?
Today stock markets are falling again and gold is down as investors sell heavily. Market analysts suggest that "fear that neither the U.S. nor Europe are able to tackle their sovereign debt problems drove investors to the dollar." Can someone explain why, if one of the fears is that the U.S cannot tackle its debt problems,…

What is the procedure if I want to hold the…

yorkshire Bank
