letter of indemnity stamp for lost shares?

hi to anyone who can point me in the right direction please.
I need to get a couple of letters of indemnity signed and stamped for my mum's lost shares certificates and her bank (rbs) used to do it for free but have now stopped. A local broker wants £40 per stamp/signature. SO please does anyone know where to go thats cheaper than this.

It sounds odd that RBS used to do it for free - they are laying themselves open to an expensive risk if they do so.

£40 sounds reasonable for this - remember they have to stump up the value of the shares if anything goes wrong.

hi yes i suppose youre right but to go from 0 to 40 in a second is worrying as she has lost most of her certs. I just wondered if anyone knew of another bank etc offering the service cheaper. cheers again.
