Standard Life - Are they Right?
I hope that this post is in the correct forum! The reason for this post is a personal one. Having contributed for the past ten years to a Standard Life Endowment Policy, the sum of £70 per month, which equates to £8,400 in total, I am a little disappointed to have only received the less than princely total of £9,400 in…

Cash ISA rate: Northern Rock 2.8% v Virgin 0.1%
Transferred my ISA pot into NR cash ISA a few months ago. It's an annual interest award, currently 2.8%. Checked Virgin money which pays 0.1% on its cash ISA:eek: Where do I stand on this? Will my interest rate be honoured as and when NR is tranfered to a Vigin account?

Is it a wise time to put another lump sum in to my M+G bond?
Hi All, a bit of my background: I am 23 years old, and put £30 a month in to my M and G managed growth fund. Is it a wise time to put more of a lump sum in (ie. £500?), while the stock market is on a low? Will i get more out of this in time, in terms of return? I am currently saving as much as i can at the moment, baring…

Stagecoach Shares - phone scam?
Earlier this evening I got a phone call out of the blue offering to buy my shares in Stagecoach Group. Now I do hold some of these, but in a nominee account so my name is not on the share register. From talking to the chap on the phone, who had what sounded like an Indian accent, he was offering between £6 and £12 for each…

Sharesave advise needed
I though I post this here, so I can get more replies. I received the sharesave booklet on Monday and was thinking of joining. I was thinking of investing £20/month for 3 years. If shares are £3.04 on March 2015, I would make a profit of around £200. I can only make money if share prices goes up, as there is no interest or…

Access to savings in the UK
I'm a retired expat living abroad. I have considerable sterling savings in an NS&I Investment Account. I have no other UK based bank accounts and, of course with no UK residency, no eligibility to open one. Until last week, I could withdraw cash at any UK Post Office when I visit the UK. Now, I have absolutely no access to…

Well, that was easy Tesco
I've been lethargic in trying to open a new Tesco Internet Saver account and close the old one. I finally made myself start the task this afternoon and was pleasantly surprised how straight forward and easy it was. Took all of ten minutes. Opened new account - transferred all but £1 from the old to the new account. Rang…
