.....I have rung several times (re a term reinvestment) and get refereed to their "admin" department who do not answer the phone or return calls. I sent the reinvestment form about a month ago and have not yet had written confirmation of new term/repayment. The original term bond expires soon and has an auto reinvestment in a term I do not want..... anyone else having the same trouble?....thanks ed

I did finally get through to them this afternoon on the phone, after being placed on hold for about 15 mins, I think they must be busy with their current issue of their new fixed term deposit accounts.

What date does your current fixed term bond mature? Hopefully it wont come to that, but even after it rolls over you still have a further 14 days cooling off period: Term Deposit Terms and Conditions
2.1.6 If the Maturity Amount is rolled over into a new Account and you wish to cancel your new Account you may notify us within 14 days of the opening of that Account or within 14 days of the day you receive the Terms and Conditions, whichever is the later. The agreement between us will then be cancelled and we will return to you the capital balance together with accrued interest to the date of closure. If you wish to cancel your Account, please call into Your Branch. If you choose not to cancel your Account, your funds will remain invested for the whole Fixed Term.

Looks like you also have the option of popping into one of their branches to cancel your account, might be an idea, thats if you have got a branch near you?

Egg savings and mortgages are currently being transfered to YBS so that could be another reason why they are very busy.
If the ball had gone in the net it would have been a goal.
If my Auntie had been a man she'd have been my Uncle.

I think ed123 is referring to Yorkshire Bank instead of Yorkshire Building Society. ;)

If you have not already tried the 0800 number, try calling them on 0800 028 3632 and select the option of being put through to their fixed term savings dept.

For me it was easier getting through to them on the 0800 number last week when I wanted some extra info about one of their fixed term accounts (the people in this dept seemed to know more about their fixed term products they had on offer).
And its free if you are put on hold!

edit: I got an email from Yorkshire Bank today, they gave me another 0800 number to call them re fixed term deposit accounts queries.
The number is 0800 707 6584, to discuss fixed term re-investment options select option 1 (for me it was quicker to get through on this number than the 0800 028 3632 number).
