Halifax Guaranteed Saver 6.25% (?)
This may be of interest to anyone who has an existing Halifax Guaranteed Saver account. In July 2008, I opened a Halifax Regular Saver account and have been feeding it £500.00 every month. At the time, I also opened a Halifax Guaranteed Saver account with £5000.00. The guaranteed saver has been (and still is) earning…

Ing
I don't know if this has been referred to before or is on another thread somewhere. My wife got an unsolicited letter from ING. Open an account, put £1 in and get a £20 bonus. She did this and it all worked out fine. She then got another letter asking her to introduce three people to open an account. As soon as each…

Quick Question on Cash ISA Interest
Hello all! The wife and I are in full house deposit saving mode for when the time is right to buy. We've just managed to fill our 08/09 Cash ISA allowances with the full £3600 each. This month though A&L paid an interest payment into our accounts. It's not much but seeing as we have paid in the maximum I was wondering how…

Is there a time limit for transferring Icesave ISA funds?
Is there a time limit for transfer of funds from my current account to a new ISA account using the ICESAVE certificate I got last month? As a non-taxpayer, I can get 5.1% in my tesco saver account and my new ISA (A&L) only pays 3.5% so I was hoping to keep the funds in the tesco account until around the end of march.…

long term regular saving...
Can anyone point me in the right direction for information on making long-term regular savings? I'm already using a 1 year, high rate account, but am interested in putting away smallish amounts of money over a longer time scale just to help with the future... The problem is most things I've found on regular savings appear…

I have approx £12000 in ICICI hi-save account (think this is 4.51% but not sure…

For those of you with kids.
Nothing new that Martin has not already mention on his Regular Savings Account advice. What I am talking about is the Halifax Children Regular Saver which it offers a massive 10%. You can easily save £500 per month with this baby (as long as you have a baby ;-) However what I discovered is that the Halifax Regular Saver…

investing service charge funds for flats
Hi I recently bought a flat which requires payment of a monthly service charge, as is normal. I just found out that the funds are paid into a Barclays account which seems to be quite a bad deal - it pays no interest, I think it charges an annual account fee and it charges for every cheque that is paid out. Given that…
