Banco Santander share issue con?
Just received a letter from Santander telling me that the have had a share issue, however because of the time issues they have imposed there will be no opportunity for me to take up my options. They will sell them on the market and I will receive any profits less certain costs. How likely is that! It is certainly unfair…

Now I have a bit of time I am considering what to do with the money that was with KE, now ING. The rate has dropped to 4.55 aer, a big drop from what I opened with. Icesave Staff - Show Your Gratitude
I know us icesavers have had a stressful time over the last few weeks, my claim was settled today. So send them a box of chocolates or card, just to…

Moving to UK from Spain for work. Keep money in Spanish bank or UK?
I have some money saved up in ING Direct Spain earning 6% interest and I'm thinking of moving to UK this January for employment. Would it be better to transfer my money to a UK bank? How is tax charged on the interest earned from a savings account? I'm also thinking of taking advantage of tax free cash ISAs since it seems…

ISA money received can I put it all into a different ISA?
Hi folks I received my money from my ICESAVE ISA on Friday - all very efficiently from the compensation scheme. As I used up my 2007/08 allowance and some of my 2008/09 allowance can I open a new ISA with all of my savings which of course is more than the yearly allowance of £3600? If so how does one do it and who is…

Curious-Has anybody had a real AKbank Experience?
If you have had a REAL Akbank experience, how was it? So many fixed options have now been removed and I am still waiting for the Icesave funds to clear/return. I am not troubled by the Dutch Protection - they were very efficient it appears in relation to Icesave - but how has the REAL EXPERIENCE of AKBANK been for anyone…

They have been saving up together for at least 8 years in Halifax savings accounts but withdrew the lump sum in 2006 and put it in a 1 year investment account. It was in…

ING - deposit guarantee
Hi, I was informed a while back that the Dutch Gov. guarantees deposits up to £78,000 ( actually 100,000 Euro ). Is this strictly accurate. I found something about this protection on the ING site several weeks ago BUT cannot see a ref to it now ? Also, should it be correct, is the guarantee worldwide or possibly Dutch…

ING Savings Accounts
Is there anyone else who is experiencing difficulties withdrawing large amounts from ING? I even asked for a CHAPS payment but 7 days later all I am getting is "we are looking into it". The CHAPS fee was refunded on the same day that the payment was requested. Perhaps they had no intention of fulfilling this request.

Collapse of Sterling
My disabled son has compensation of £1.5M with the Court of Protection. How might his spending power be affected by the Government's proposal to print money? Could anyone comment on the possible consequences for him if there were a run on the pound and a collapse of sterling? Aside from switching currencies now and…

Top Fixed Rate Savings currently?
One of my bonds have just matured and trying to figure out what the best thing to do with it is at this time. Highest I have found is Halifax 3 months fixed rate at 6.5%. But is it worth to just put money in there for only 3 months? I thought I heard that saving interest rates might go down another 0.5% at the end of this…
