Friendly society tax free savings
Today's Guardian states that you can save £25 per month tax free in a Friendly Society account. This is in addition to any ISA arrangements. Anyone have more info on this? Who are the Friendly Societies (I'm guessing not just the BSs)?

Premium Bonds - Exceed the limit if reinvesting?
I've been told that although the maximum holding limit is £30,000, this can be exceeded if you have requested NS & I to reinvest all your winnings? Is this true, or just a myth? Can't seem to find any official enlightenment on the subject.

If I had waited I could have found a much better rate. it is to late this year now to open another, as i put the full amount in. Even if I put £10 short in, I could have opened a new account with…

I'm looking for opinions on the most cost effective way to drip-feed money into an index tracker, but rather than setting up a monthly direct debit, I want to watch the relevant index and buy when it's low. The FTSE All Share is a likely candidate. At the moment I'm contributing the maximum monthly amounts into a personal…
